Grump Cow seems to be part of an On the Spot Haast Foodcentre. Coffee was pretty terrible, wasn't worth stopping for. Didn't try the food but can not imagine it being any better. Would not recommend.

We really loved this little place, very friendly and helpful.
We had the eggs and the big breakfast which was great value and very nicely prepared.
The coffee was good and gave us a great start to the day.

If you like a gooey beef burger, the kind where the patty moos at you as you take a bite into it or if you like chips so soggy you can squeeze the grease from them or you like your chips to taste like every other food that's been cooked in the oil over the last 20 years then I can highly recommend.... Otherwise probably safer to just drive on by

The Grumpy Cow Cafe saved our day.
Excellent breakfast, delicious coffee and awesome sandwiches - without those sandwiches - the way to Wanaka would have been less fun.
The Owner of The Grumpy Cow Cafe, Nicky is one of the friendliest persons we meet in New Zealand.
If you got the chance visit The Grumpy Cow Cafe, it is a must when you pass Haast!
