Our experience here wasn't great. We followed the staff's recommendations for salads and starters, and while the winter plate and grilled mushrooms were okay, they didn't really wow us. All of the plates were with noticeable cracks. The mixed plate of grilled meat and potatoes was a letdown; everything was excessively salty, and the strong spices on the potatoes made them inedible. The place filled up with cigarette smoke really fast and we just wanted to leave. The card terminal didn't work, so we had to pay by cash. We left feeling disappointed, and unfortunately, the night ended with stomach problems. We had a couple of recommendations for this place but we had a different experience….maybe it was just an off day for the restaurant. Not more than 3 stars, we visited on Saturday, and the restaurant wasn't full, We waited too much for a couple simple orders, mainly from the barbecue. Also, restaurants should take care more about hygiene as some parts of table cloth were very filthy as some of the dishes/cutlery Food was ok, average, nothing special. There is a lot room for improvements here in general, and probably I would come again.. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

It is definitely worth visiting a restaurant where the service is at the level. The food is of very good quality, tasty and warm, and the portions are plentiful. The waiters are pleasant and helpful. An amazing, authentic restaurant with splendid food, and helpful staff. We spent around 2 hours there, and the whole time waiters were recommending foods and sauces based on our likings. The place itself is warm, cozy, with traditional furniture and food utilities. I would definitely advise coming here.

Beautiful traditional restaurant in this small city full of traditionally good food. We didn't have luck because we have visited this place soon after the Christmas holidays, so we couldn't try every food er wanted to try, but we will go back again. Strong recommendation.

The restaurant that transports you back in time, an authentic Serbian restaurant in Vranje located in a historic townhouse. Meana is the most visited restaurant in Vranje and a favourite amongst locals and travellers. It truly has the most tranquil garden dining area. Recommend to book, as it fills up very fast and due to the nature of the restaurant being a place for families and friends to gather and socialise, the tables do not turn over fast. We were fortunate to arrive just before the lunch crowd gathered and were seated on one of the last remaining tables. As this is a local restaurant, they only have one menu in English, and very little is spoken amongst the staff, so you truly have a unique experience. The staff were charming and welcoming. The menu is pages of traditional dishes, and the wine list was also extensive, full of Balkan treasures at excellent prices. A fantastic array of grilled meat dishes, which were on top of everyone's list, is their speciality. We enjoyed the tasty food, and be sure to try the delicious homemade bread. Best to order your dishes up front, as the kitchen and staff are bustling and service is impacted due to the restaurant's popularity. We did wait for over one hour for our main dish. Therefore we recommend putting all your orders through on arrival. We generally like to order one dish at a time. A beautiful dining experience, one that needs to be on your list when visiting Vranje.

Authentic southern Serbian ambient, cozy and welcoming. Photos of old families, with their significance and role in Vranje are evoking a feeling of past times, when Vranje was a thriving town. Service is really good. Staff is warm and welcoming, showing genuine care. Food is typical southern Serbian and the menu covers a variety of meet and other dishes. Nicely served on clay plates. Definite recommendation for anyone visiting or passing through Vranje, whether local, tourist or business reason.

Lovely old school place - the way it should be. Went there on a cold winter night with friends and was not at all disappointed. Lots of wood decor and dishes of stew in traditional clay pots to maximize taste. Superb lightly fried mushrooms among many things to try on the menu. They retail quality wine from local vineyards which is a plus so collect a few on your way out to add to any collection.
