Great "gostilna" with a lot of traditional slovenian dishes. If you want to taste the tradition yuo should go there.

Underrated place! Don't let the exterior fool you. Family run and fantastic, very flavorful recipes. We had a perfectly cooked steak and three types of pasta/gnocchi that were all very good. Salad was great, and the minestrone soup was one of the best I've had. English speaking and friendly owners and wait staff. Great dinner place after a tough hike through the caves!

A cosy non pretenceous restaurant. The majority of plates we took were meat, and it was simply delicious. Tender, not too salty, with generous portions. One of the best places to try out traditional Slovenian food. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We arrived just at the end of lunchtime, so the owner was quite busy but he nevertheless took the time to show us where to park the car and our accommodation which was on the ground floor.||For the first night, we had the apartment number 4. The ground floor means that you can’t leave the windows and shutters open because everybody passing by could look at you... But there’s a little courtyard with armchairs and a bench that we used at apero’clock.||For the best, there was a problem with our lock (impossible to open) so for the second and third nightS we had the apartment just above on the first floor. Better. First you have more privacy and can leave the shutters open. Second, the beds were not squeaky...||Fabulous breakfast. The best scrambled eggs ever! Plus ham, cheese, bread, etc. Far too much but gorgeous...||For the last night we also had dinner there. It was the best meal we had in Slovenia. Hearty tasty traditional food. We can only recommend this place.||It’s the perfect location to visit the overated crowed coastline, superb Trieste and the surrounding area.
I made a reservation on booking then they called me and made me cancel it, because they are fully booked. Had to search for another stay. I don’t understand why they don’t write that they have no rooms. It’s not fair to the customers.

Cut little mini apartments, with a small kitchenette. The town is very quaint, that you can walk across in 10 minutes. The owner is helpful and after a long strenuous bike ride, the first thing he offered me was a beer. (wonderful). The restaurant was not open that day, but a good breakfast was offered. Price was more than fair. The owner's dog and cat did not get along and was noisily obvious. If I ever had a reason to stay in Lokev again, I would stay there again.

Gostilna Muha is a nice stay. I was here since 2017 every year with a group of caver for one week caving. The landlord prepares wonderful food (try the beefsteak with truffels). The rooms as far as I know (I have not seen all) are well equipped and spacious.
The dishes were good, but nothing more than that. I can understand the intention of acomplishing a relaxed and rustic style, but the outer courtyard (where we were eating) gives you the idea the owners don't care much obout that. I don't expect expensive furniture or astonishing gardens... just a decoration with a sense of beauty and tradition. Some randomly chosen chairs and tables and a concrete garden floor won't (definitely) achieve this. In conclusion: In my opinion, there're better restaurants in the region with comparable prices, delicious food and more beautiful ambience.
