Having seen Hastings City Art Gallery, it's time to have a rest at this restaurant. Taiwanese cuisine is to guests' liking at Funbuns. What a great place! We went for dinner with our toddler at 5pm. Great service from staff. Lovely cocktails and mocktails. Tasty food. Interesting decor! There was even a highchair and our toddler loved the cheesy corn!

Totally the best meal out I've had in ages and value for $$$$. Classic pork and the pork belly bao buns are simply the best. The taste hit that pops on your tongue is bursting with flavour . The next flavour hit was the Barrata, which is a ball of mozzarella in a tasty sauce with fried bread dippers. The radish cakes are also a must to try. Your taste buds won't know what's hit them with the zingy flavours in all these dishes. Right from when you set foot in the door you have friendly and helpful staff waiting on you. Nic has st the bar high and certainly delivers. Absolute must when in Havelock North, take in the decor as well with the quirky wall art and beautiful parasols covering the ceiling. So yum! Love the freshly my bao and cocktails, not to mention the long list of side dishes. The tofu bao was amazing, but be aware you need to ask for the vegan menu. Wish they just had the tofu bao on their regular menu to avoid the hassle of asking. Meal for 2 people with drinks was 90, very reasonable.

Very nice place! Great comfort street food, very well thought out. I thought the prices were ok, maybe a bit high for the portions but it was very good. Service was excellent, and the ambience was really cool. There is a garden bar coming soon, we will definitely come back to see that.

Now you can book a table it makes for a great venue for a meal out.Their teapots are well worth trying and good value we felt.The funbuns are superb and the sharing plates are worth trying altho as expected some we enjoyed more than others.If you havent been before, try! Just had our first time at Fun Buns and wowza! Super tasty food, just the right portion sizes, fizzing atmosphere and kick-as cocktails! We’ve found my new favorite Hawke’s Bay restaurant and definitely will be back! Sadly I ate everything before thinking about photographing the delish food. Fun Buns for life!!!!

Our waiter was so knowledgeable in terms of the menu. The food was super tasty, and fresh. Prices were good, and atmosphere was great.
