Great area for kids but at $19 for a BLT that’s barely anything is disgusting in a takeaway container and no cutlery. Service seemed to be well under par like we were an inconvenience. Want to support this location but makes it hard ask when theres other kid friendly cafes out there that values customers. Come on. Will not be back. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Sadly really disappointed with our iced coffees. Not the usual and definitely not what we expected and longed for on a hot Nelson day with basically a cold coffee with ice in a half sized glass. Yes its called an iced coffee but no cream, no icecream, nothing but coffee and ice for $8. Nice outdoor area but won't be back for an iced coffee. We went on a Friday night, with the market going on and we ordered nachos, we waited for 1h and the food never came. When we finally decided to ask about our food the woman said they were having a problem and our order never made it to the kitchen, that happened to 4 other people, 4! You would think that when it happened the first time they would be on top of it, but no, let’s relax and leave people waiting for food that would never come. At least the woman was nice and gave the money back. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Friendly staff and good food. It's a claygo policy. A lot of birds flies around. Food are good and big serving, good for 2 to 3 people. They offer free water. Food ranges from 15 NZD to 25 NZD. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We have overlooked the Founders Café for too long ! Called in for Sunday brunch and the food was excellent 👌eggs benny and the full breakfast, everything cook wonderfully in a delightful setting. Service with a smile, it was everything we needed on a sunny nelson Sunday. Beautiful location, Food trucks were a total disappointment, only two to choose from. Music was also pretty much a disappointment. You guys need more staff on! The long line of people waiting hardly changed for 3 hours!! Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Awesome cafe. Family friendly. Wedges and shoestring fries are amazing. Kids playground to keep them occupied while parents dine in peace.

We shared bangers and mash; the Heck’s sausage was great, but the mash was gluey and tasteless. The gravy did nothing to help the sad mash. The server who eventually removed the plate didn’t ask, so I assume they just don’t care. I won’t be returning. The owners response deserves comment: if we were talking about a charity sausage sizzle in front of Bunnings, the point would be well made. However, at an advertised culinary event at a restaurant, charging restaurant prices, the expectation is for restaurant quality food. That expectation was not met. I’ve been here a few times with my toddlers and enjoyed the good coffee and play area. I ordered food for the first time today and was completely surprised at how delicious and beautifully presented it was. The modest sounding “hummus plate” was well worth the price, I’ll definitely be ordering it again!
