I am frequent customer of family chef and even if the prices are a bit high, the food quality was good and much better than other local restaurants, however my last visit was horrible. Received a fork unwashed and uncleaned. Was really disappointed when even the fried rice i ordered was full of egg rather than having a decent amount of chicken as usual. Standards must be set on and the amount that each particular dish is made must be weighed and must be consistent to be improved.

Well recommended place for all three meals. Good variety of short-eats, lunch and dinner. Good variety of Fresh juice and coffee. Price is bit high compared small boutique hotels. But it's worth the price.

Chicken Tikka Masala
Ordered english breakfast and mint lime juice, food is ok but didn’t like the quantity and the lime juice is excellent. Lot’s of food to select which is another plus point.Not happy with the staff, they are too slow and not paying any attention to serving ordered foods. I realized later i’m not the only one having that issue, lot of customers always gathering to the front to get their food.

The worst thing that has ever happened to me was this. I went to Family Chef Ja-ela to get my breakfast on May 3, 2023(around 8 AM). I placed an order for red fish rice and curry (350 Rs) and milk tea (200 Rs). Then, using the receipt, I received rice and curry. I then sat down and told boy in this picture to take my Milk tea by showing Milk tea receipt. He took the receipt, examined it, and then threw it on my table :(. I hoped, someone will gave me glass of water to me . I received no water from anyone. Then I went and got a glass of water to drink. Additionally, I got a milk tea receipt at the table and handed it to the tea maker; the that guy proceeded to serve me a cup of tea. This seems like normal behavior at this FamilyChef-Jaela. I told the manager, Mr. Seelan, about this. That call was captured on my phone. In the future, I'll upload it to Facebook and other social media.

The Jaela branch has some amazing Frappes. Try the Biscoff Frappe. You will not regret it. Also, it has some superb short eats past afternoon, which you won't find anywhere else..

Extremely disappointed with the level of customer service here. The cashier was on a call laughing around while a large queue of customers were waiting. The cashier girl didn't care at all about the hold up she's causing. There were two or three cash registers but only one cashier.
As the holdup was too much, i asked another employee to give me a lunch packet. But he couldn't pay me the balance as the cashier was away. So my only option was telling him to keep the change.
Funniest thing is that the cashier girl didn't even notice anything,as she was busy with her call.
Food was ok except for chicken. Chicken was not cooked well.
