Traditional Barbacoa from Hidalgo. Really worth the visit. The lamb is deliciously cooked. The ambiance was great when I was there with a very good live musician. Open only on weekends with this feeling of celebration… Consomé was very tasty too

Spirit Nada Yoga

Traditionally made barbacoa lamb tacos made with fresh handmade tortillas. They are only open on the weekend as of this posting. They also had live music when I went. I wish I was here another weekend!

WEEKENDS MORNING/LUNCH ONLY. bring cash. This is one of my must-try, favourite spots! Amazing local Hidalguense consumme soup &tacos, lamb barbacoa. They slow roast a whole lamb wrapped in leafs, in a wood fire hole in the ground, over 18 hr. It is extremely 'local', so don't expect any fancy atmosphere or air conditioning, but wow is it ever worth going to for the flavours! Staff are attentive and nice. You can see part of the kitchen where the ladies are hand making the tortillas and stacking the wood for the cooking/ fire pit. Highly recommended. Slightly more expensive than most neighborhood restaurants in this part of town -but for good reason; the pork and chicken here are outstanding!
