After a walk around het Stadhuis van Leiden uit 1596, many visitors stop by this bar. Here you will be offered good ribs, hamburgers and op la. I'm just going to share this one story: Last March I went there with a quite big group of friends (~15 people) and we sat at the terrace (boat in the canal). When we asked for the bill, the ridiculously rude waitress told us that it wasn't possible to pay separately since we we sat at the terrace, something that of course no one informed us of beforehand. After we complained about the poor treatment and told her that this has never happened to us before (under the same circumstances, that is) she told us in the most dismissive tone imaginable (word by word): "well if you can't afford it, maybe you shouldn't have come here" !!!! As if someone casually walks around with a 100 euro bill in their pocket when they're planning to go out for a single beer. It goes without saying that I personally followed this woman's advice and I haven't set foot in this place ever since (and of course I'm not planning to either). Stay away! P.S. The fact that I wrote this review almost a year later after my last visit ,while feeling exactly the same about this place, says a lot on its own! Service: 1

12 eyries for one average kroket. The salad on the dish was without any oil or lemon juice. Bread wasn’t even toasted. Way too expensive. I don’t know how people expectation has become so low that this place has 4.2 stars Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €20–30

We feel lucky to have food and drinks in the Einstein Restaurant in Leiden in open area. It is an unique experience which we shall remember lifelong. Food, services and atmosphere all are superb. Dine on the bank of canal of Leiden amidst many more enthusiasts is nothing short of dream experience. We shall visit again. Great place to stop for lunch while visiting Leiden. With outdoor seating overlooking the canal, the food (pork satay and warm goat cheese salad) was delicious and the drinks, including their home brew beer was refreshing. Only downside is the atmosphere was a bit loud but otherwise outstanding.
