I love this spot! Amazing vegan/vegetarian option in the area. Is it more expensive than most places, yes? Is it cheaper than where I’m from? Also yes! Totally worth it. Cute place and great service too. I went two days in a row! Buns were $5 usd, and the bowl was $7. Both are fried tofu — cooked to perfection! ASK FOR CHILI OIL!!!!!!!! Price per person Rs 1,500–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Dumplings is a really nice place with the murals and plants. You sit in a beautiful and peaceful backyard. The Flat White coffee was amazing. And the fried dumplings were great as well. Perfect if you want to take a quick bite when visiting Galle Dutch Fort. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person Rs 1,000–1,500 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

The restaurant offers abundant seating, and well-maintained washrooms are readily available. The establishment maintains a high standard of cleanliness 🧼, and orders can be placed at the counter. A notable distinction is the absence of pork 🐷 dumplings 🥟, which may disappoint some. Nevertheless, the cuisine is exceptional, with highlights such as the delightful Lemongrass Noodles 🍜. Additionally, the vegetable, chicken, and beef dumplings are distinguishable by their vibrant green, yellow, and purple hues, respectively. 😊 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 2,000–2,500 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Dumplings One Portion
We ordered veg dumplings, matcha latte & the mango rice dessert. The cafe is really cute and well-located. Everything lined up to the expectation. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
After an exhaustive sightseeing spree, our hunger led us to the delightful oasis that is "Dumplings Cafe" in Galle. Stepping in, we found ourselves enveloped in a soothing sea of light green, my personal favorite hue. The hardworking and incredibly kind staff immediately set the tone for a pleasant dining experience. Ascending to the upstairs restrooms, we were pleasantly surprised by their impeccable cleanliness—no unpleasant odors in sight. Opting for the outdoor seating amidst the lush greenery, we marveled at the well-thought design that combated the scorching weather with strategically placed fans. Our elation continued as we delved into the menu. To beat the heat, we sipped on an "Iced Matcha Latte" and "Iced Cinnamon Latte," priced at a reasonable 850 LKR each, both served with papaya stem straw, which was very good for the environment! For the main act, opting for lighter fare, we relished the "Fried Prawn Dumplings" and "Boiled/Steamed Chicken Dumplings," each priced at 1980 LKR. Each plate generously adorned with 10 delectable dumplings accompanied by a tantalizing bowl of spicy chili paste with oil. "Dumplings Cafe" not only satisfied our hunger but left an indelible mark of flavor and warmth. A gem in Galle, balancing culinary excellence and ambiance with finesse! 🥟🍵 #DumplingsDelight #GalleGastronomy Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person Rs 2,500–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Dumplings One Portion

They are extremely rigid about their menu. I was hoping for dumplings with a side soup, but they only offer soup with their shrimp or beef wantons. Both meats I could not eat for health reasons and they were unwilling to make any adjustments so I went with the chicken lemongrass noodle soup. The food was just ok. Being a south east Asian and particularly critical of this cuisine, the dish didn't remind me of home. The noodles were thick but soft, nothing like typical silky rice noodles I'm familiar with. The broth had too much seasoning, not the light and clear kind I'm used to. It wasn't bad but it just had a strong cinnamon, possibly cloves and other seasoning taste that was more overpowering than the light simple meat/fish broth that's typical of this dish. The chilly oil was spot on though sparing. The location has a nice setup but not a wide space if it's raining. There was a large group setup behind where I was seated who were extremely loud that it made it difficult to hear my own thoughts, let alone to converse with my company. At 2530 SLR, it was a little too pricey for the experience. They accept card payments and have a bathroom upstairs. I won't be back again by my own account. This charming café is tucked away on one of the most popular roads leading to the Galle Lighthouse. It exudes a cozy ambiance with genuine Sri Lankan hospitality and a touch of Galle Fort's atmosphere. The atmosphere is serene, complemented by calming Lofi music, and the staff is both friendly and attentive. One standout feature is the option to bring your own wine while enjoying a meal. The food itself is not only delicious but also simple and flavorful. The serving and plating showcase creativity, and the overall cost-to-food ratio is commendable. This hidden gem provides a delightful experience, combining a warm atmosphere with delectable cuisine. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It's popular so the wait to get your food is long (we waited 50 mins). The prawn wontons in chili oil was nice, but the pan fried chicken dumplings lack soy sauce/flavor and the skin was a bit thick. They have a large selection of juices and my yellow and green one (mango and matcha) was tasty. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person Rs 3,000–3,500 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

I recently visited Dumplings Cafe and while the place itself was very nice, I was disappointed with the portion sizes for the price. I found the servings to be quite small, which made it difficult to justify the cost. Additionally, while the food was okay, it wasn't the best dumplings I've had. I would have appreciated more options on the menu as well. What really stood out to me was that they charged for tap or filtered water, which is the first restaurant I've visited that does this. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite crowded with many foreigners, which made it a bit overwhelming. Overall, while the experience at Dumplings Cafe was enjoyable, the limited portions, average food quality, extra costs for water, and crowds left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
