Small place with few tables. Outside and very cozy. The food was very good but what sold us was sake flights. Wish more Japanese restaurants would do that. Good selection of cocktails. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you’re missing some Japanese flavors while in Cancun, I think this place may satisfy those cravings — keeping in mind there’s going to be a Japanese/Mexican fusion. Personally had the vegetable ramen, and it was a pretty robust meal with several hearty vegetables and beet broth. The complimentary rice balls (cream cheese) were a nice touch, too. Lastly, the service was terrific. We were waiting for our ride which took much longer than expected and he offered bug spray/to call for a local taxi in between. Overall, highly recommend! I ate the sushi bombs, it was good and a big portion! I also had the pulled pork ramen (in fact, it was exactly that except for the pork that was replaced by chicken). It was very delicious! Great place, great service! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I think some of the other reviewers need to keep in mind this is a Japanese restaurant in Mexico. Is the food authentic Japanese? Not really (keeping in mind, I haven’t ever been to Japan - but I’ve been to some high end Japanese restaurants stateside). That being said, THE FOOD IS GREAT. It’s more Japanese-Mexican fusion. I had the “smoked ramen” and the broth seemed pretty authentic (comparable to chasu ramen broth that I’ve had elsewhere), and the pork was nice but it did have a hint of more Mexican flavors. However, I don’t think that’s a bad thing. It was a great flavor combo and I would definitely eat it again. Chicken yakitori: very nice grilled texture and flavor (I would say this was one of the more authentic dishes). Serving size was quite large, as it was served on a delicious bed of fried rice (the fried rice was made with intent - it wasn’t just an afterthought). This could easily be a meal on it’s own. The bao bun: also really good, but huge - oversized. You definitely get your money’s worth even though it’s just one bun. That filling was good, but the bun itself was not as light/springy as a traditional bao. Still very tasty. Complimentary fried rice balls. A nice touch, they were piping hot - clearly made fresh just for us (as we were the only ones dining at the time). Nice and crunchy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside. What more could you want here? Vegetable gyoza: some nice umami flavor. Crispy on the outside. I thought they were just fine on their own (I didn’t use the dip). As some of the other reviewers mentioned, a lot of the sushi rolls include cream cheese. My suspicion is that the restaurant may be trying to cater to local tastes (but I’m kind of guessing here). I wasn’t feeling sushi at the moment, so i didn’t order any. Service: also 5/5. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. 2 for 1 cocktails were offered (but I didn’t feel like drinking). The jasmine tea was good. After we had paid our bill, our waiter had noticed that we were waiting for a long time and offered us bug spray and to call us a different taxi - which was a very nice touch. Price: VERY FAIR. We did end up spending 950 pesos for two people but we did order 6 dishes (2 ramen and 4 apps). I actually expected it to be more expensive. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Easy ambiance, but everything really good! It was the best sushi I’ve tasted in Mexico so far. There was proper amount of fish, the taste was nice. We got a little appetizer on house. Also dessert was really nice! For sushi and ramen lovers definitely recommend! Meal type Dinner Price per person $100–200

There are vegan options available 🌱. I got vegan udon noodles with spicy peanut sauce, veggies and tofu ($160), and a vegan poke ($130). Both of them were good. They offer courtesy entrées, which aren’t vegan, but the waiter changed one of them for a vegan one after I asked it they were vegan. I thought that was a nice gesture. It you tend to eat a lot, maybe one plate’s portion won’t be enough for you. There is no AC, but there are fans. I liked the service and it’s a nice cute place. I’d go back. Meal type Lunch Price per person $200–300

I have to give this place a 5 star because everything from the taste down to the lineage of the chefs study. I asked the chef did he learn from a Chinese friend and he mentioned a Korean chef teaching classes. Enticing tastes so great and original for great prices as well!! I come at least once a week since I’ve visited.
Everything we ordered was mind blowing! For a country like Mexico, this is outstanding cuisine. Living in a neighborhood of Koreans and Japanese I did not have any of the quality we experienced visiting dai. Great promotions (2x1 cocktails), friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The smokehouse concept, paired with Asian specialities is just well thought and any of the four dishes we ordered was on point. Got to be back to get desserts one day!
