This cafe has lots of potential and it's unbelievable that it's only recently opened. We had a delicious eggs Benedict and creamy chicken risotto and everything was delicious, fresh and not pricey. Coffee was very good too. Both staff were lovely and efficient and we felt extremely welcome. Maybe they could improve the internal decoration to give a bit of cozy personality but apart from that it was a 5 star experience. Watch out chubby dog!!!

An unassuming cafe in the middle of Rotorua. We went there for breakfast.
From the outside it appears to be a quiet cafe, nothing special. Inside it’s unassuming with nothing to prepare you for the food.
A nice touch is the children’s menu, with typical things kids say when asked to choose.
The adult menu hints at what’s to come. The porridge is not just the regular but suggests something added. Likewise the description for the French toast.
But when the food comes out….. WOW!
The presentation is stunning. These dishes could grace a 5* hotel, one with Michelin stars.
And the taste? Superb!
We’ve been touring NZ for 4 weeks and nothing, not even in the capital Wellington, has come near.
This cafe is a must. Forget the rest, eat here.

My family and I recently visited Rotorua for a quick business meeting and some quality family time. We chose to stay at the Pullman Hotel, which turned out to be the perfect choice for those looking to try out Citron Cafe.
We decided to visit on a Sunday morning at 9:30 am. I ordered the famous Eggs Benedict with salmon, and I must say, the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The pricing was reasonable, the taste was exceptional, the presentation was on point, and the portion size was just right. And let’s not forget about their delicious coffee – it was the perfect complement to the meal.
If you’re ever in Rotorua and looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend giving Citron Cafe a try. It’s a fantastic culinary gem in the area that won’t disappoint.

What a fabulous find. Couldn't fault this cafe. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Fantastic food. The house potato rosti is the best I've tasted in ages. Everything just spot on. Will be back for more soon.

We were hungry and looking for a delicious lunch. We stumbled upon this quaint restaurant and we are so happy we did. I had the smashed avo croissant that was amazing. I am still full 5 hours later. Great service too. Everyone needs to go.

We ordered the French toast, eggs your way (scrambled) with added rosti and soup of the day which was pumpkin soup.
All the food was amazing and definitely recommend adding the rosti on the side!

First time visitors to this Cafe and we will be back! It ticked all the boxes for us with excellent, attentive service, very good food, great portion sizes, and super clean!
We had breakfast and added halloumi as a side. It's amazing how few cafes get the grilling of halloumi just right, but these guys did! So squeaky! Great coffee too.
