Cibo offered both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to be indoors as it was a cold winter's day. The service was prompt and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and accommodating of requests. There was a large car park right in front of the cafe. Will definitely revisit when in Whangarei!

Had lunch last Sunday; omelet was superb and full. Their ginger and pistachio slice is delicious. Shame I had to share it with my husband. The team are cheerful and welcoming. One of them ran to the door to assist a lady in a wheel chair entering the cafe. It was very windy and her husband would not have managed the wheelchair and the door in the blustery conditions. Well done team Cibo; you noticed their arrival and got to the door to help before they did.

Some products overpriced. Ordered sides for breakfast for $26. When I saw a meal size I was surprised, too little on the plate. I asked the staff, maybe they made a mistake. For example the side salad for $7 was extremely small size. But staff told me that how big they are. Had to get a second breakfast somewhere else 😟

I moved to whangarei in April and found cibo was the only cafe here where I really enjoyed their eggs bene with bacon, every week I come here and the food is always consistent, perfectly cooked poached eggs everytime, always delicious. But as of the last few weeks I’ve been here the food is not coming out how it use to, the eggs are always either over cooked like a boiled egg or I cut into it and it’s undercooked with all the egg white and water running onto my plate. I don’t know if it’s new chefs or something but it really saddens me as this was a really nice place I love coming to eat and having a nice coffee. Please go back to knowing how to cook a poached egg. Thank you

The food is average, the hollandaise sauce is so bitter it was so vinegary.
We ordered a bowl of chips and a family that sat down 15 mins after us got there's before ours.

Some places have it, some don't. CIBO has all the potential but doesn't deliver. Lots of staff, handy location, plenty of space, windows all around so airy and light and yet it feels depressing and dull. As if the light has gone out, and in a way it has. Demotivated staff, unappetizing food (dried out smoked salmon on the pizza as if it had been sitting in the cabinet for a week) uncleaned tables and too expensive for what they offer.
What a missed opportunity, business wise.
We'll refrain from visiting again as there are plenty of more rewarding cafe experiences in the basin area.

Very busy and popular place. Good selection of food in the display cabinet, as well as a menu if you want something freshly cooked.
