Great sporty vibes here. For Mondays, they had the cheeseburgers and Miller pints on special. These were definitely an amazing way to conclude a Monday night. Otherwise, check their weekly specials for special dishes. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Came here for a casual dinner date and overall, it was a nice time. Hubby says the roast beef dip is the die for! I love the fact that you can get tater tots as a side. Bartender did a great job with my dirty martini. The best thing ever: mini donuts with caramel dip...wow! Only con: there were a few flies swarming around. Met up with friends for a steak sandwich and fries. The food was good. The atmosphere here is cool. This is an old crematorium very cool building. During games there is lots of TVs and the folks that gather here a great. The staff was friendly and great at their job. Lots of free parking. They have a pool table and dart boards. The Cat 'n Fiddle has decent deals on wings and a wide selection of drinks. Welcoming staff and interesting food and drink specials for each day of the week. We used to like going here for group events until recently where they have decided to impose a mandatory 18% gratuity for groups. A gratuity should always be voluntary to show appreciation for good service and indeed I would always tip well, but I do not like being forced to pay a set amount. If the purpose of forced tipping is to ensure no-one in the group forgets to tip to ensure a living wage, then the restaurant should pay a living wage rather than forcing customers to make up for inadequate wages. However, these days we do have a decent minimum wage therefore the auto-tipping should not be necessary. The definition of gratuity is something that is given freely beyond what is required, so "auto-gratuity" is not given freely and the term auto-gratuity is an oxymoron. Regardless of my opinion on auto-tipping, the fee should at least be agreed in advance by either a notice on the menu or informed by our server prior to ordering, neither of which happened. We only found out about the fee at the end when we received the bill. Again, I'm not against the option of tipping and I always tip my server appropriately, but I do not like being forced to do so for a set amount. I hope The Cat 'n Fiddle decide to reverse this policy in the future or I guess we'll have to look elsewhere for regular group events which is a shame since I like the bar and have not had any complaints over the years. _______________________________________________________________ EDIT BASED ON REPLY FROM BAR: That's great and thanks for acknowledging our concerns! Stopped in for a casual quick bite. Wings were delicious served piping hot. I had a beef dip and salad and my hubby had the burger/beer special - both delicious. Beef deep served on a brioche hoagie. The side salad was large when I dumped it onto the plate. I opted for balsamic - it was good. The burger was good. Added fried onions and cheese - opted for side of onion rings - so good. Great service and prices. Super casual. Large inside seating area. Lots of tvs going too.

Stopped in for a late lunch the other day with a friend. Neither of us had ever been to Cat ‘n Fiddle. From 16Ave, it’s a little sketchy. But once you park and go in, you find an amazingly aged and beautiful interior! Lots of tv’s for watching the game! Our server, Olivia, was great. She was knowledgeable and friendly. She helped us with a celiac menu also. We enjoyed the lunch specials! This is somewhat a hidden gem imho. If you haven’t been to Cat ‘n Fiddle before, go visit! So good & great atmosphere.

Loved this location. I was told this was an old cathedral. The high ceilings make you feel less closed in so it is a very chill and relaxing atmosphere. Loved the trivia night. Especially loved that trivia night has no technology involved. So nice to get away from screens at the end of the day. Wonderful mini quesadillas but they were so good that I forgot to take a pic and they got devoured. Next time!

I've been coming here for over 15 years. There was a dive for a while and tonight I saw things are doing well! So happy to see this business do well. I had Beef Dip which was the special and it was delish and a great price!. I changed it to a five star. You replied as many don't! See ya soon
