Richard and his team were our bar at our wedding. From the very first phone call with Richard, I felt totally at ease with the whole process. Nothing was too much trouble, even when we requested Guinness for a family member for the day a few weeks before the wedding. The cocktails were a hit with all our guests and I believe some of these had sold out by the end of the night! The staff on the day were fantastic and did a sterling job in 30 degree heat in September. Nothing was too much trouble for them, including one of the staff members helping my family carry in flower displays into the venue. It really was A* service! I would highly recommend them for any future events and it was such a pleasure to deal with such a lovely team. Thank you so much! Service: 5

I was not going to leave a review for this company but after seeing their response to my wife's review it has made me want to. Firstly, I was not rude to Richard on the phone. I was very stressed because he would not respond to our emails in the 2 weeks leading up to our wedding. Our emails were in regards to the pricing of drinks for our event. After previously agreeing a price it was left until two weeks before our wedding for this company to send us a "new" menu with significantly more expensive prices. As we had already paid a deposit we felt trapped and that we had to use this company. I explained to Richard on the phone we had felt misled and that the prices agreed upon booking and paying a deposit should be final. He explained that because of the rising costs of things it meant they had to put up their prices. This is fair enough, but maybe change your prices for future bookings, not current bookings that have not yet taken place. Or even so, maybe give more than 2 weeks notice and an option for a refund of the deposit so the customer can book an alternative company. Richard also explained that the lack of response via email was due to it being their busy time of the year. To me this felt like a cop out excuse as during your busy time of the year is when you should be keeping up with emails and admin. We also had no issues communicating with four other vendors, which to us shows its not hard to reply to an email. In fairness to Richard, once I was eventually able to get through to him on the phone he did reduce the price of some drinks, but the wording of the drinks on the new menu did change from "pint" to "large". However, I did not see these drinks on the night so it would not be fair for me to comment on the sizes of drinks served. We did ask them if they could provide cider, which they did. However, I was quite disappointed to find that this was just cans of Strongbow for £4.50 a can. It did feel a little awkward on the day with the staff members, as it felt like our issues must have been discussed with them, hence why we didn't go up to the bar for a while. Thankfully there were no issues with the bar on the day, as we didn't have much confidence considering our interactions leading up to the wedding. My wife left the first review this company has had on Google about a week ago and since then they have had around ten 5 star reviews... to me this seems a bit odd, but maybe they have just had a lot of happy customers in a week!!! Personally, I would avoid this company, but if you enjoy feeling stressed and misled then give them a go! Neither of us wish to be contacted regarding our reviews as we believe they are factual and fair. Maybe use that time to contact current customers instead to keep them updated on prices etc. Service: 1

We used Boxbar for our wedding this year. From start to finish the service of the Boxbar team were outstanding. As a bride to be, you are juggling a hundred things to make sure your day is special. Thankfully, using the guys at Boxbar they were efficient, polite, insightful and organised ensuring I had no worries. On the day, the team members were polite, on the ball and great fun. We really appreciate the service and we will definitely be using them again in the near future! Ps the cocktails are delicious! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Would highly recommend. Meet you guys sometime last year at a staff even for my work and thought how excellent your were from stat to finish. We have a big family birthday coming up so book you guys for the event. Again you were excellent and couldn't of had a better time. Price per person £10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Really poor experience with this bar company. We booked them around a year in advance for our wedding, and they seemed excellent - discussed the menu, prices and timings. However, nearer the time they provided us a different menu with significantly more expensive drinks. We tried to question this but they would take so long to reply - it became very stressful as we were coming nearer to our wedding date. On more than one occasion I had to chase a response. Eventually we got through via telephone (after calling 3 times) to which we were told that the prices listed to us and the ones on the website were an “example” and not definite! We found this very misleading. They eventually agreed to some lower prices but then changed the wording of the menu (i.e from a “pint” of pimms to a “large pimms) - we presume this was to provide us a cheaper price for smaller drinks. Again, this is misleading and stressful. In relation to the slow replies, the man on the phone (Richard, I believe) stated that it was a “busy period” and he can’t reply quickly. However, we had no issues with the many other vendors we used, and I think it is reasonable to expect a quicker reply when our wedding was less than 2 weeks away! Additionally, the staff on the day were less than satisfactory. They presented as quite moody and unpleasant. I’m disappointed with this company as we had such high hopes from the initial call. I will not be recommending them to friends/family. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I had the pleasure of using the BoxBar Co team to serve drinks at my summer party. They brought both the inside bar and also their vintage horsebox. The staff were incredible, polite and so attentive. A massive thank you to the whole team and we look forward to having you guys back for my 50th this year!
