Delicious food. We’ll be back!! Friendly staff. Took quite a while for a waitress to come take our order, but there were signs up saying they were hiring - so it’s understandable. Seafood was amazing!
Amazing vegetarian lasagna and crumbed Camembert. Great vibe. Great price for food! Great service. Only thing was my cocktails (expresso martini) tasted like they had no alcohol at $18 each. Meal type Dinner Price per person $60–70 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

We're from Wellington and arrived in Napier when it was wet and windy. We went to the Boardwalk. The atmosphere was so welcoming, the view tremendous and the food superb. A vast selection on the menu. Service very helpful and no request too much trouble for the staff. Not a great experience - table given outside backed up to a drain & the toilet. Service ok - no water given at start & drinks menu taken away after first order. Food average - coleslaw literally swimming in dressing. Building work going on next door with dust coming over the top of hoardings Have to say very disappointed as this place has been great on the past 😌 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We had the shared bowls - 4 for $70. Excellent value for a lunch for 3 people. The staff were run off their feet but they all kept their cool and were very lovely. They deserve a bonus for days like that. I will definitely go back there Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This place has the best location ever its only saving grace. Untrained ill attentive staff. Over priced for what you get, no water offered having to ask to be served when not even busy. Not once asked how we enjoyed our meal the owner just said, ready when I went to pay. Go the thirsty whale better in every way will never dine there again. Could have brought a new outfit instead Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
Do not eat here. Beautiful location, great spot for a drink or coffee. But I repeat, do not eat here. Expensive, disgusting food. I ordered avocado smash, I think it was $24 and it had the thinnest spread of avocado. The poached egg was rock hard. We ordered hash browns and there was a puddle of oil on the plate, they were swimming in it. We were a table of 8, no one was happy with their food. This place has an opportunity to be great with the location and views, hopefully some improvements to come in the new year. Booked for brunch, stayed for lunch. We booked a table for brunch at 10:30, but our experience turned out to be unexpectedly amusing. Firstly, upon arrival, we found our reserved table had been given away. So 7 of his were at a table for 4. All good. They had run out of English breakfast tea – surely this is a staple tea? Anyway we ordered herbal teas instead, wouldn’t believe it but they took an hour to arrive. When they did, one was barely more than half cup with room temperature water, and two mugs were not clean. Our food arrived an hour and a half after ordering. Adding to this, one meal was forgotten, leading to one of us watching the rest eat. Their meal arrived about 20 minutes after everyone else had finished. The quality of the food was average. Despite the mishaps, no compensatory gesture was made. On a positive note, the wait staff were pleasant and seemed to be doing their best under challenging circumstances. It was clear they were ill-equipped to handle the situation, and we genuinely felt sorry for them. In summary, our brunch turned into a memorable experience for reasons we didn’t anticipate! Edit: A few from the table liked their food and wanted me to add this to the review. I mean, we didn’t hate our time but needed to post a review. Service Dine in
We were looking for a nice seafood restaurant before leaving Napier and we were disappointed in what the Boardwalk provided. The fish and chips was very disappointing. Fish was tasteless and the batter was soggy. Could have been frozen fish, even though they are right on the water. Staff were lovely but that doesn't help when the food isn't good.
