Cute pizza/burger place that stays open later than 8! I had the pepperoni pizza and while it was good, I didn't feel it was great. I'm not as much of a fan of thin crust which may have played into this so don't let that stop you from giving this a go. If you like thin crust, this is definitely worth a try. My husband on the other hand had the Lamb Burger and said it was delicious and my son got the Spicy Mex and also gave it a 5. Final rec is that it is a cute place that is worth a visit! Me, my wife and our 3 year old daughter came here today. What a place!! We got the chicken, bacon, pesto pasta, a cheese pizza and a bbq burger combo and everything was extremely tasty and cooked beautifully. Lovely Katherine was very nice to talk to. Thank you 😁. This was recommended by the motel manager at Mediterranean motel. We ordered our pizzas at 7.40pm. Two small pizzas, apricot chicken and lamb. At 8.30pm we were still waiting. Went over to ask the waitress (I believe she on working holiday) of our order. She has no idea of when it will be ready. Asked for the manager, she said she’ll get back to me. The cashier got hold of me and said that the pizza will be ready soon. Pizza arrived at 8.45pm. More than an hour! The lamb pizza was a bit dry. Apricot chicken was not bad. Apparently it’s a NZ thing. Verdict- go somewhere else! The service is atrocious. I was never given an indication of when my pizza will be ready. Staff were indifferent and not even once offer to compensate. I should have just gotten a fish and chips instead. I start with the good, it is very refreshing to have some vegan options so at least you have something to eat. Unfortunately the flavour and the service are really bad, it seems that the young girl doesn’t want to move from the counter and whatever you need you need to get up and ask and then go back again and remind her so you will be able to eat. Luckily the other lady come from the delivery and gave me the sauce I been waiting for. For the price it’s def not worth it. Visiting NZ from the U. States of America. I was craving a good cheeseburger, so did a Google search for burgers in Kaikoura. Black Rabbit Pizza came up as the best burgers around, so we headed over for a late lunch. The place is welcoming and friendly, which is greatly appreciated. My husband and I both ordered the Epic Cheeseburger Combo and we were not disappointed. The beef patty was delicious and the veggie toppings were so fresh. I don’t usually eat a lot of fries, but these were delightfully crunchy and tasty, and I ate most of them. Really, REALLY good food and very reasonably priced.
