A nice seafood restaurant by the beach, built around a Banyan tree (locally known as 'Na tree '). Excellent views of the Indian ocean and you can dine-in while enjoying the fresh and warm air. Not much parking spaces available which isn't a major issue. All preparations are fresh and cooked only on orders. We loved the grilled mullet fish but preferred more flavor. The portions are average. Has an edge over many other similar restaurants in the area due to the excellent location. There's still room for improvement. Good luck!

We had a great dinner here. Awesome view in the late afternoon enjoyed with some cold beer. We had a variety of curries for dinner served with several accompaniments and they were all very delicious. The boss man was very charming and polite and the staff were excellent. We have been travelling through Asia for the last 4 months and this was one of our favourite meals. Highly recommend.

First time i'm here and YOU have to go! 🍔🍜 It’s the cutest spot with amazing food. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Also, Atmosphere is chill and cool. The staff is also friendly and food is pretty good Soo yummy. Love this place and Can’t stop myself from visiting this restaurant over again. Everything is simply perfect about this place. Amazing fresh food and good views. Staff are also very nice. We have been traveling in Sri Lanka for two weeks and this is by far the best Kottu we have tried! We highly recommend this place.

Owner was there and took care of us very well.
Seating on the beach and also right above it at the deck which is separate from the DJ/Bar area and almost as relaxing as the beach...
However, some stray dogs were spotted at the beach during the night, so the deck is recommended if that's a concern.

My wife and I came into The Banyan Tree for supper. Delicious fresh seafood platter. We saw the options and chose the fish beforehand. Lovely wine and beer and we were looked after really well. Amazing banana fritters to finish beside the beautiful bay. Highly recommend.

We had a dinner in this amazing place and were satisfied a lot with the service, atmosphere and sure the food! The kotu with cheese and seafood was especially tasty. Also we tried the grilled shrimps with the rice and mixed salad. Both dishes were large and very fresh! Everything was perfectly served. The staff is polite and attentive for each client. Furthermore, the restaurant have a picturesque view to the see. If you come at this place you will not regret
