Food is delicious!
We ordered the seafood platter and got a good size fish, calamari, lobster, crab, prawns, comes with fries and salad!
The fries were a little on salty side, but the main thing is the seafood - cooked with yummy flavours!
We came a little late in the evening and on a stormy day, so it was a little quiet.
The owner and staff are very friendly here. The owner even offered to drop us off at our hotel (only 400m) as it was pouring with rain when we left!

Don’t every try to step into this terrible restaurant.. ‼️‼️‼️‼️
Worst food | Poor customer service | Long waiting time
Ordered Sri Lankan rice and curry and the waitress said it includes some vegetables to go with it. When the food served they said we ordered chicken curry . After having conversation regarding the same they bought us curries which made for their STAFF as mention by the waitress.
There was a fly in one of our ordered food. When we were complaining about the same and ask manager to show up the waiter ask a tuk driver to come visit and threat us.
Waited for more than one hour to get us this terrible food and waiter ended up saying they WON’T ACCOMMODATE ANY LOCALS OR INDIANS ever to their restaurant and surprisingly that was the solution they had for the spoiled terrible food which we paid thousands on.
If you want to spoil your whole trip don’t forget to step in and have terrible foods with flies.
We dined here many times whilst we were staying in Bentota. The food was fabulous, and we had the best chips ever.
The staff were extremely attentive and the hosts were very, very kind to us. (Thank you).
We sat upstairs as it was cooler up there with the sea breeze, and we had an excellent view of the local trains full to bursting with local commuters.
Very good value for money
Highly recommended.

On a leisurely Sunday afternoon at 12:30, my family of five visited Bamboos Garden Restaurant.
We started with the Brown Onion soup accompanied by warm bread, setting a delightful tone. The main course featured Chicken Curry and Rice, along with Fish Curry and Rice. Notably, the curries were thoughtfully mildly spiced, catering to a broader palate and appealing to those with a penchant for international flavors.
The portions were commendably generous, ensuring everyone at the table left satisfied. The flavors in each dish showcased a mastery of taste, making the overall dining experience truly enjoyable. Moreover, the affordability of the meal added to the restaurant's allure.
The service at Bamboos Garden Restaurant was noteworthy for its warmth and efficiency. The staff's attentiveness enhanced the overall dining experience, making us feel welcome and attended to.

Totally recommended👌. Delicious food, from curries to jumbo prawns🦐. I’ve been two times in Bantota, for 2 weeks in a total and I’s been my best place. Not only because of the food but also the friendly and profesional stuff. Oh and cause of delicious starters😅 you’ll see when you go there🥰🌟.

Cozy place with great food! They served us fresh seafood including the biggest and most tasty tiger prawns we ever had! Especially our waiter Nimsara did an amazing job, which we will never forget. We wish him and rest of the staff all the best!

Prawn Curry & Rice
Curry & Rice, the National Dish of Sri Lanka is eaten for almost any meal of the day and incorporates a variety of ingredients from seafood and eggs to meats & vegetables etc. However, the basic coconut milk curry with robust spices remains similar no matter which one you get.
The curry pairs perfectly with the slightly nutty & sweet steamed rice bringing in lots of flavours ranging from spicy, sourish, sweet & creamy together in every bite. It's somewhat of a marriage between Thai & South Indian Curries. The coconut milk and the varied tastes are very Thai, but the spices and curry leaves are very South Indian.
An extremely distinct feature of the Sri Lankan Rice & Curry meal is the side dish called Sambol. I've tasted Sambol made of Shallots, Fish, Vegetables etc., and then each would have more versions either spicier or sweeter than a normal one. Sambol means a condiment to go with the main meal and these further enhance the flavours of Rice & Curry.
It's just incredible how flavourful the Rice & Curry in Sri Lanka is, mix in the Sambol & sometimes the stir fry dishes served along and every bite will have a distinct flavour from the previous one. It is one of the most indulgent meals for the palate and should you find yourself in Sri Lanka, I would recommend trying Rice & Curry on more than a few occasions!!
