We had visited Amigos one year back and recently got another opportunity- during a day trip to Wanaka. We started with dip platter with corn chips, which was excellent and well presented. Thereafter we shared 2 mains between 3 of us: - a vegetarian fajita - a cauliflower soft taco Both were well presented and delicious. The service was prompt and the atmosphere was excellent for a family. The 2 alcoholic drinks were very well made too! I will be happy to dine here again. The most popular restaurant in town and of course for a good reason. I’d highly recommend the wagyu and the roasted silica tacos over spicy spicy margaritas. The flavours were great in the tacos. The cocktail was so spicy and refreshing to drink. The prices of the menu items are standard considering the good quality food. The service by the staff was alright considering how busy they remain especially during the peak holiday period. The vibe is just superb with a great view of the mountains and just a stone’s throw distance from the lake Wanaka. We had the quesadilla and a bunch of tacos to share, the food was decent. Plenty of gluten free options on the menu, but they use a shared fryer, so for Celiacs, anything fried isn't safe (that includes their nacho chips). Quick and friendly service. Always an all-time favourite for when visiting Wānaka. A really energetic vibe. Great food, paired with awesome drinks and always excellent service. Taco Tuesdays is a must visit. We come here, time and time again, and it never disappoints, highly recommended. tacos and quesadilla was really yummy. food was served hot, and wait time wasn’t long. they have a lunch special, prices were quite affordable. staff are really friendly and approachable. enjoyed my experience there! went down a second time again cos we really enjoyed the food and ambience there. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was quick and tasty. Great variety of taco options, most of which were very good. However, losing a point because I splurged for one of the expensive options- the carne asada- and the steak was tough and stringy. Also the guacamole portion was pretty small for $16. Taco Tuesday is a great value and there are lots of vegetarian options. However the cuisine is not authentic at all, and most the vegetarian taco options have fried or other unhealthy filings. Most the times I've booked a table I've gotten a nice place to sit, but recently was taken to a tall table with bar stools which isn't possible for my back, and staff weren't amenable to finding me a place I could have a chair, so Amigos didn't get my business that night. Went here twice. It's always packed, I recommend making a booking early even if it's in the middle of the week - surprising. The food was fantastic, I enjoyed the fish tacos which I had the first time. Recommended for this place - grab a beer and finger food to share. Then order 4 random tacos each which will be enough.
