One of the best new “kids on the block” in the city and entire region ! Amazing food and five star service ! Fresh and quite spacious it’s a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch or brunch in the brand new section of the city. Absolutely live everything about this place. Solid selection of food options for everyone’s taste from light such as granola or pastries to waffles, bagels to burgers. Multiple vegetarian, dairy and vegan options on request. We have tried delicious avocado, tomatoes and pesto bagels one day and they were just perfect, and chia pudding and coconut granola next day, both delicious. Coffee is first class with perfect blend, but recommend to try fresh made smoothies too. If you are after something sweet there is good selection of home baked cookies to choose from. Staff and owners are very friendly and make sure everyone is looked after. I think one of the best things about the cafe is that there are so many seats both inside and outside. An extra bonus for parents is adjacent playground, so parents can enjoy a cuppa while keeping an eye on kids. Well done Alioke team ! Keep it up !

Loved the beautiful atmosphere Ali had created and we thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. Ali also catered our event and created the most beautiful graze for a good price! - highly recommend!
With all the complicated food out there, nothing beats a good sunny side-up egg on a toast. Food option includes how to cook the eggs (or egg your way). I am not a fan of mushroom but the mushroom they served was really good. Even the grilled tomatoes were good. Price ranges from 4$ to 25$.
Atmosphere is perfect for a sunny weather.
Service needs a little bit improvement, some staff were already getting the plates even though we were still eating.

This morning, I went to Central Park Lane, The Meadows, Richmond, and found Alioke Eatery ( #aliokeeatery #alioke ). Actually, I found it doing a Google map search, looking for a place to have breakfast.
Wow, what an incredible place. Wish I had found it earlier on my holidays and not on my 2nd to last day.
The menu is full of 'I'd like that', and the cabinet kai is scrumptious.
Loved the service, it was very, very ka pai. Kai and kāwhe were excellent along with the smoothie. Great atmosphere, awesome setting. Great little playground for the kids, and highchairs are also available. Ka pai outdoor or indoor seating.
If you haven't been, you should. You won't regret it.

So this is an update since my first review below. The standards had slipped this time. Oh dear, I left dissatisfied. Coffee was not great, almond croissant seemed stale and the bathroom looked a bit shabby - dusty sills and tiles above the basin missing. Hope they pick up their game again.

Excellent discovery in wider Richmond. This has everything I like in a go-to café - style and fresh decor (love the clear chairs, and unique decoration in the toilets vestibule), spacious indoor and outdoor, wheelchair/walker/pram accessible, great outdoors for dogs, plenty of parking, clean well appointed toilets, and then of utmost importance... Great coffee! Hard to find well made soy milk coffees, I am usually disappointed. This is the best I've found in Richmond! Which means great baristas. Gold to a café and to self professed coffee snobs! But seriously for me that's a make or break point, so I hope the baristas are treasured enough to stay here 💝 So, on to the food - good simple fare, done well. With a diverse enough range for most palettes and some things the kids are sure to enjoy. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and requested the eggs done to soft not runny. Perfectly executed! And happy that the spinach was fresh, not cooked. Another time I had good ol' Southern Cheese rolls and a coffee and white choc muffin. I shall return!

This has been our local all week while being in Nelson for our wedding and it’s amazing!!!! Delicious food (particularly the smashed avo and ginger crunch🤤) gorgeous decor and very spacious. Excellent coffee and also a great spot if you have young children as it’s right by a playground. Highly recommend - looking forward to coming back already.
Great food, try the cookie ice cream sandwich pictured, great deal for $12, it's the size of my hand!

Amazing Paddy's Day beef and Guiness pie, a big tick from this Irish couple living in Berryfields. Also delicious little Paddy's day themed cakes. Thank you for making the effort for Saint Patrick's Day, being far from home we really appreciate it. xx
Good food and service. Kids playground nearby was very helpful.
Sound inside when busy was a bit harsh I think due to being a all concrete, probably only an issue of your sensitive of hearing
