Nice place but we waited 2 hours for our main course and 40 minutes to order a glass of wine. Place is just understaffed and staff look unhappy. Tables around us were also unhappy, bit of a strange ambience led by a good kitchen but no service.

Excellent view from the second floor terrace overlooking the town square. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. We ordered the calamari (lightly breaded) which I usually don't like but this was done very nicely and I ate quite a bit of it or at least what my partner would allow because she wanted to eat all of it. We shared the Tomahawk steak which was brought to our table on a side table and completely covered in thick salt which was chipped away at in front of us which was a very cool experience. The waiter carved the steak and you could cook it on a cast iron plate to desired doneness. It was one of the top 3 steaks I have ever had in a restaurant (and I eat a lot of steak) and possibly the best. Can't recommend this place enough.

The best meal and experience on entire Gozo! You don’t know Al Sale? Then you are missing an exquisite fine dining experience.
My husband surprised me with a booking for our anniversary. Al Sale is directly at the square and has a beautiful view over the square and the church. A prime spot is the balcony, unfortunately it was a bit too windy to enjoy it in early June.
Every single staff member was kind, provided excellent service and explanations and we felt welcome at all times.
The menu is small, each course has its own page, I think it was 5 choices always.
As a stater we had the scallops to share, delicious and promising start. Then I had the pasta with pistachio sauce and burrata - heaven, I’ll dream of this until we come back one day (next time it’s my main) and lobster ravioli.
The main for me was the duck, crispy and juicy! For dessert we shared the pistachio cannelloni, my husband is a huge fan and he devoured it.
Highly recommend this place, it should be in the Michelin Guide.

Great food, pleasant ambience, and good location in the centre of the square. The staff are very efficient and professional. Drinks and food were promptly served with minimal waiting time. If I had to comment on something, it would be that dessert is a bit too expensive, especially when compared to the rest of the menu; however, it was really good and beautifully plated, so we wouldn't mind trying it again. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely visit again.

One of the best restaurants of our holiday in Malta and definitely the best restaurant on Gozo - It’s visited by locals and tourists. Best price value we have ever seen in a restaurant that serves that fresh seafood/fish. We explored the 8 course degustation menu for 45€ - which was amazing! Christopher and his team are great!
The food was okay, unfortunately the shrimps in the pasta had a very strange consistency, the taste was good, though. The staff was very professional. The ambiente outside next to the church and the square where the wohle village played bingo was unique.

Honestly, this place was amazing and we happened on it by chance. Just lunch with 2 friends and the food was incredible. The waitress was amazing. We tried the antipasti and were very pleasantly surprised with the amount for the price and shared between 3. This place deserves all the praise! Really enjoyed our lunch and highly recommended.
This was definitely the best restaurant we went to in Malta. There was a great selection of food and we were spoilt for choice. The mains were reasonably priced considering the portions were massive and were full of flavour. We had a seat on the roof terrace which overlooked the square and the church which really added to our experience. The staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend this place.

Beautiful food with a stunning view of the town's church from the balcony table. Lots of fantastic options on the menu which is focused around Mediterranean cuisine. Couldn't recommend coming here for dinner enough!
