About
The menu of Japanese cuisine under the direction of the popular chef is wonderful here. You will like its food, especially nicely cooked prawns, sushi and spring rolls. Based on the guests' opinions, waiters offer delicious tequila, margaritas or wine. Great juice is a good choice for the first time you come to this restaurant. Sitting on the terrace, you will enjoy a beautiful view. The attentive staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. Agave Azul is remarkable for its fine service. Prices are found adequate here. There is a pleasant ambiance and fancy decor at this place. Google users who visited this spot state that the most suitable rating is 4.2.

A high bar is set at Rosewood Mayakoba but Agave Azul finds a way to meet and exceed. Diego (manager) and his team were so attentive to us and our one year old. We came here a few years ago and it was just as impressive. Also, for any parents looking at reviews this is the best kids menu on property. Japanese/Asian dishes integrated with Mexican flavors of lime, chilies, and sweet fruit. Excellent place to eat outside. Jessica, our server, was friendly and amazing!

Quiet cozy modern and tucked away in the jungle of The Mayakoba Rosewood Hotel Resort near Cancun, Mexico. Fantastic service and delicious Asian cuisine. Low lit atmosphere adds to the experience. I had Rockshrimp and Pad Thai. Excellent! Don't forget the Tequilla. Vast selection of Mexico's finest Agave Tequillas! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

WONDERFUL STAFF 👌 but, as it turns out, this place clearly is taking advantage that people pay upwards of $1,400/ night USD to stay at the Rosewood. Rock shrimp and sushi roll with eel was about $75 USD w/o tip. Dry sushi rice, solid fried shrimp, but not worth $32 lol. Decor was similar to a Red Robin or Olive Garden from 10 years ago, maximum chewgy. This is for people who haven’t had good food and are enamored by the resort 🤷‍♂️
It's a nice Asian-Latin fusion restaurant. Prices are similar to the ones in the the U.S. Great selection of tequilas, it's a tequila bar too. A bit overpriced in my opinion.
Went last night for a walk in. Staff was super rude and unaccomidating. Restaurant was empty at 715 due to severe storms/monsoon weather but they refused to let us wait for a cancellation as they were confident no one would cancel. We stopped by 90 minutes later and the restaurant was still empty. Service Dine in
So first thing. The online menu is slightly out of date. Just FYI. We loved this place. It has a nice large outdoor space overlooking the lagoon. Great view. The service was fantastic. Everyone went out of their way. The food was just amazing. Delicious. We ordered too much for 2 people but loved it all. The rock shrimp appetizer was big and great. The beef spring roll is so good. It’s four pieces 2 spring rolls. In addition to the regular sauces they made us some additional sauce that was like a slightly spicy aioli. That was great. We had the soft shelled crab and the ribeye. Each of these were a big meal in themselves. The ribeye was sliced seasoned and in a light juice or sauce. Really a great steak. Like you’d get at a great Japanese restaurant. Loved it all and highly recommend.
It's just wasn't that good.. We've ordered 4 dishes including curry ceviche. The ceviche fish's cut was very large, makes it not very comfortable to eat. The rest of the food was nice but simply didn't justify the very expensive price it costs. For scale, we paid less in another fine dining Asian resturant in Mayakoba a night before and got much better exprience and much better service.
The setting is casual and with good taste, specially in the terrace were distinctive furnishings are the norm. We visited on August 14, 2020. Service is impecable, as you normally find throughout Mexico. The waiters know the menu and they can provide knowledgeable comments and suggestions. Prices are on the high-end, but that is to be expected of the place (the restaurant is inside the Mayakoba complex in the Riviera Maya). For a dinner for three persons we paid Us$225, including some drinks and dessert. My only complaint is about one dish we asked but that was not good at all. This was the Tataki de Atún. Flavor for the tuna was lacking and we could not finish the dish at all. In addition, we asked for the chicken satay and the accompanying sauces were flavorless. Beside that, the sushi is really good and the Ramen was very well prepared. I would return but would stay wary of dishes with prepared sauces as the chefs are clearly not putting attention to their preparation.
Great setting and atmosphere at this restaurant. However, the sushi is mediocre at best for anyone who had the good stuff in NYC and Tokyo. Service is very slow and not attentive (have to ask for various things multiple times). And it is extremely overpriced. We had a ceviche, edemame, 4 rolls and 5 pieces of sashimi for $300.
