Food is good but certain items. Mantoo 8 piece (lamb) 27$ is good. Slightly expensive but worth it. The best was lamb dampukht, 33$. Very tender meat and highly recommended. Darbar special was 36$ - this was good although meat pieces were slightly chewy. Chicken biryani 28$ was ok. Try something else In general food is about 40$ per head. I think their kebabs are more famous but then you get that at any Turkish / kebab shop. Price per person $30–40 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Very delicious food. The rice was delightfully flavoured, the meat tender and tasty. We had a lovely lunch here. The darbar special for 2 with an Afghani naan on the side was lovely and plenty of food for the two of us. Definitely recommend this place! We'll certainly be back. Lovely staff and the meal was huge. The restaurant was quiet but they had people constantly picking up deliveries so good food.. It was a nice place for a date night and George Street at night it cute and lit with pretty lights. They also sell turkish delight, we grabbed some for dessert

This is our personal experience and I can’t generalise anything here, but I thought it’s worth sharing for future customers especially those from Iran. We dined at Darbar a while ago with a group of friends. The food wasn’t bad but the vibe was a bit off and staff weren’t too friendly, but we thought we give them another chance. Our second experience was horrendous. We greeted the waitress in our native language of Farsi (Salaam) because we had talked to them in Farsi the last time we visited. everything took a turn after that. I’m not exactly sure why (I can only guess) but she treated us very poorly throughout the dining. Other diners got the “hello, welcome, how is it going? please have a seat” and we were handed the menu in absolute silence, given the side eye and felt very unwelcome. We wanted to leave immediately but we’d taken a long detour to eat there so we had the food. We felt we were treated unfairly immediately after we spoke in our mother tongue. We will not set foot in Darbar again. Unfair treatment is never OK. PS: my comment was 100% honest around our experience on the day. I think your response says heaps about your customer service. The Bolani at Darbar is always delicious. The food servings generous, salads freshly prepared. Vegan options available. The refreshing Afghan tea served in a beautiful glass tea set. Great food. Hummus portion is a bit small. The serving for 2 portion is way too small meat wise but overloaded with rice. Burger was great, lamb mince was excellent and good portion. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
