Maalesef depremde şehrin büyük kesimi, tarihi binalar da dahil olmak üzere yıkıldı. Afgan kahvesi tarihi binası şu an restorasyon aşamasında ve yeni yeri şehir merkezinden uzakta. Lezzetinden bir şey kaybetmediğini söylemek gerek. Umarım eski tarihi dokusu ile yeniden güçlü ve anlamlı günlerine dönerler.

Haytalının içindeki ürünleri ayrı ayrı yesem hoşuma gitmez ama hepsi birlikte garip bir şekilde güzel geliyor. Denenebilir.

Ne yazacağımı, atmosfere kaç puan vereceğimi düşünüp durdum..
Ne acı ki, ne yazık ki, Hatay'da Habib-i Neccar camii, Ulucamii vb. bir çok tarihi yer gibi, 1839 Lardan kaLma, zamanında yağ LambaLarının yakıLdığı, nice hikayeLerin ve anıLarın oLduğu o tarihi köy kahvesi de depremLe yok oLdu... :(
Yeni yeri de gayet güzeL, ama ne yazık ki yeni işte... Lezzet, hizmet, kaLite, güLeryüz hiç değişmemiş oLsa da, Tarihi Affan Kahvesi, o tarihi bina iLe özdeşLeşmişti..
İşte o yüzden atmosfere puan veremedim...
Yeni yerin avantajı yok mu, var.. Otopark..
Yine de yeri nerede oLursa oLsun, Hatay'a geLip, Affan Kahvesi'nde bir kahve içmeyen veee HaytaLı yemeyen, Hatay'dan eksik döner..

Charming local coffee and dessert spot. They are famous for their “haytali” dessert, which is custard topped with ice cream and a rose syrup. Very tasty! There is a garden in the back, too.

Lovely traditional coffee shop in the historical district. The atmospere and their local desert (Haytalı) make this place worth a visit. The owners are very friendly and it’s a joy to chat with them.

If you are visiting this area for the first time, especially during summer and hot weather, this place is a must try ☺
Their specialty is the "Haytalı" - a white pudding topped with 2 scoops of plain ice cream and filled with a rose sugar syrup.
The best way to eat it:
Using their special spoons
Grab a bit of ice cream
A bit of pudding
And a bit of the pink syrup
A great feeling once you start eating 🤩

The best haytali in hatay hands down. 🤩 prices are affordable and tastes amazing. They make nice coffee too. A bit hard if you’re not used to it

My first time for Haytali sweet and I just loved it.. that is a mix of falooda like layer, then pink rose water and scoop of ice cream

My beloved place in Antakya. What a pleasure to have a simple breakfast here with a simit fresh from the nearby bakery and a tea or coffee, while watching the traffic and the daily business of the neighborhood folk. The cafe was as frozen in time, the wooden chairs and tables dated from the 1920s. Gone is it now, destroyed by the February, 6, 2023 earthquake, together with the rest of this beautiful and charming Mediterranean city, which became the grave of so many of its inhabitants. Let us hope that the entire building will not be demolished, no "restoration" can replace the atmosphere of the old building.
