Nice traditional restaurant in beautiful little village. Absolutely must visit.
Definitely the best vegetarian curry I had in whole area and nicely grilled fresh local fish . Chips are from fresh potatoes and portions are pretty big.
We also had a private dinner with Zawadi (barbecue in the beach) It was amazing experience and something we did not expected to be that well and spectacular prepared.

the food in this restaurant is the best we have eaten in Zanzibar. Big portions, good price quality and taste. Octopus in coconut sauce and fish wrapped in nuts really delicious. I recommend this restaurant, it rightfully has 5 stars. You wait for the food, but it's worth it.

Lobster was the best one during this whole trip.
Fish was perfectly cooked and we also ordered quite interesting sides, local corn smash and spinach like greens.
Everything was home made and authentic!

Expect to wait as it's cooked fresh but it will be worth it. Portions are big and so savory. I had the sesame fish and it was fried evenly throughout and still tender. The cook/owner is passionate about cooking. We talked after the meal and he will go into detail about how he prepares the meal. As I fellow foodie I appreciated his willingness to share recipes and traditional cooking methods.

The food was great!! We had some grilled octupus and some octupus pilau, besides the very nice spices the octupus was super tender as well 😋 we ate some white snaper as well.. very delicious :) i will definitly come again and recommend to check it out!

Nice family restaurant with good selection of local dishes.
We had fresh fish and vegetarian curry. Everything was delicious and freshly prepared for us.
Simple sponge cake with local spices inside is interesting to try as well.

Amazing little local restaurant!
Food was delicious, fresh and full of local spices.
Staff is very friendly and helpful with menu.
They even prepared for us local dish ( ousted from menu) with greens from garden. Very similar to spinach and vegan.
Restaurant is located inside of authentic African village, everyone around is super friendly. There is no reason to stay in hotels places.
Local people serving great authentic food and prices are lower than in hotels and beach bars but food is better!

Sea Food Platter
Some of the best food we'd eaten in Zanzibar. The Chef, Bange, knows how to create flavour and compliment the fresh ingredients. He goes that extra with some different sides for the meal, some of which he picks from the plants being grown in the garden. Worth asking too what he recommends on the day. Or placing an order/dining time for dishes that take longer to cook. Delicious food is worth waiting for. The restaurant is simply stylish. It's in the village, at the back of Lulu beach apartments, so great to sit and watch some local life pass by. My husband and I very much enjoyed our chats with Hajid and Bange. We can't wait to go back someday...

Incredibly good food, perfect fish and very tasty juice. The service was also very good and we felt very comfortable. We highly recommend visiting Zawadi if you are especially looking for very good fish and a cosy ambience!
