Delicious. Their chips and salsa are to die for. I highly recommend the carne asada as well, tender meat in a great marinade. Prices are decent, and service is usually fast and friendly. It looks like it's been a year since my first review. We decided to give Zapata's another shot and I am truly sad to say the quality has not improved I have eaten here often in the last 15++ years and I truly want it to be good. The margaritas taste strange and our server even upgraded mine to a top shelf. Now I can taste tequila and that strange flavor. Is it too much lime juice? Maybe it's me. Again, served in a tall Pepsi logo glass. Seriously? The Baja taco has been a favorite for years but sadly, it wasn't up to par. I'm sorry guys but we won't be back. We have loved eating at Zapata's for many, many years (we live in the area). Sadly, the quality of the food was not up to par yesterday and we both got bellyaches (and again the next day from the leftovers). I had a chicken quesadilla and mom had chicken fajitas. It also looked like the menu had been severly cut back, the chips seemed different and not fresh and the margarita came in a plastic glass. A good selection of Mexican plates. The serving sizes are ample and the food quality is very good. In nicer weather I like to sit in the covered outdoor patio and watch the world go by. I really like their fajita for two or the fajita salad, fish tacos, burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas, and so much more. They have really good margaritas and some beer selections.
