Um. Is it customary for the bartender to take money out of your change before she hands it to you, claim it as her tip, then put it in her tip jar??? Because that's what happened tonight. I mean I was outright flabbergasted that the Saturday bartender took out her tip before giving me back my change. I had already tipped her the first time...even though I tip every time I get a drink but a tip is not something thag is entitled to you!
That's basically the same as entering her own amount under he tip section on a receipt. The crazy part about it is, she could have gotten a bigger tip had she not helped herself to my damn money. I hope tbe owners see this post! I usually go on Fridays and sometimes on Saturday as well, so I was surprised that the Saturday bartender felt comfortable enough to take out some of my money before giving it to me and claiming it as her tip.
I have worked in the service industry before as well as been a cocktail waitress in the past but I have NEVER seen this happen. Oh, and it would be nice to have Billy back since the crowd of men can get a bit drunk and out of hand. There was almost a fight last night and and if Billy was there, I'm sure this wouldn't have taken place. Even if it had, we know he could handle it. Sorry, but the older bar back is not very intimidating.....Billy is more equipped to handle rougher situations in my opinion.
