It was my first experience at the location and I was very disappointed. The food is overrated and the service was not up to par. The server insisted that my guest pay the bill even though I asked her not to do it. I was told there was no manager on duty to override the transaction, even though the bar was fully stocked with alcohol. They didn't have basic tonic water for gin.!!!!! Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Awaze TIBS

Superb ambiance, design and layout unfortunately NOT matched by food quality(at least what we had!) We thought they may have mixed up our order until our server confirmed it, but our Awaze Tibs looked nothing like one. It came out looking as beef stew or beef soup, saturated with spicy sauce! It consisted of roughly 80% sauce and 20% Tibs. We're Ethiopians and never seen anything remotely close to it. Google "Awaze tibs" and you see tender chunky tibs moderately marinated in regular Awaze until it has juicy texture with little to no sauce. Not some tiny chunks of Tibs overtaken by watery soup! An absolute failure there! Our second dish of Gomen Besiga was at best underwhelming! Very tired and overcooked Collard greens with chunks of meat that were too scarce and tasteless! Needless to say that at close to $25/entrée, this place should arguably claim the priciest menu award in the DMV, a region dotted with authentic Ethiopian Restaurants at $15-$20 price point. You just not going to get the cozy fireplaces and fancy designs as Yeshi. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

A horrible experience. We waited sitting for one hour and 30 minutes after we ordered to get food . And when it arrived it was dry and overcooked. A large party with kids, our night was ruined. And the bill was eye watering. Price per person $100+ Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Collard Green

Before I give this review..I’m American as hell so if I say one of these dishes wrong just let me live 😂 in summary, just visit here. The ambiance is 😍 the service was amazing. I asked a lot of questions before I ordered something because I cannot do too much spice, but a little is necessary (I’m Caribbean). I had the Kitfo cooked medium and rare. Both were simply amazing. They also have a decent wine selection. Parking is plentiful in the back. It’s delicious and everything was so fresh. Must try!
