Definitely worth a visit. The surroundings are beautiful, the waterfall in the distance is gorgeous. The staff were lovely, the coffee was strong and the scone was yummy. The farm animals are nice for children as is the jungle gym. And it is pet friendly.
Fabulous views of Howick falls from across the valley. Perfect for kids too with play areas, and farm animals. Food not that great. Limited choice for vegetarians/vegans, but the views are worth the visit. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 100–150 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Beautiful views of Howick falls. We had a veggie burger which was excellent except for the side sauce, not that good. But a great spot to relax and enjoy lunch! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Very disappointing experience. I booked my daughter's birthday party in the event area which is a large space and under cover, I paid upfront and confirmed with management two days prior to the event, only to arrive and there was another event happening in the space. We were received with a sort of "oh well" attitude and were told they couldn't move that event so we would have to make do with another smaller space that was more open to the elements and weather. I had also booked tea and coffee for our guests, the tea arrived 25 minutes after all the guests had arrived and the coffee we had to go in and ask for after about 45 minutes. The venue itself is lovely and the kids had fun but very disappointed in the service and management.
Wonderful location off the beaten track in Howick. It seems to be very kid friendly with a large play area and donkeys wandering in their paddock. The view over the falls is good (see photos) but it’s a shame you can’t get closer. The path is closed off for some reason. The food is very good and reasonable. I had the beef curry pie - very flavoursome and just enough for lunch. The service was also good. If you want a tranquil break with great views then you could do a lot worse. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 100–150
Really loved our little lunch date here. Menu has some divine options with many crowd pleasers - the deck dining area is gorgeous and the garden dining areas are beautiful! Really a must visit. The staff are really lovely and warm and polite but would like a bit more efficiency. The indoor dining area is a bit crowded and dated but it all adds to the charm of old farmhouse and the atmosphere. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Great place for kids. They have a play area with jungle gyms, animals and space to run. We had views of the howick falls and it was a proper hidden gem! The food and drinks were good and everyone enjoyed their time there. The main building was interesting because it's a converted old house with interesting rooms and old artifacts inside. The kids were fascinated! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person R 100–150 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Avo Stack with Bacon and Mushroom
It was ok. Positives: extensive kiddies play area and bike trails for the little ones. The miniature horses and donkeys are adorable. There is a lush lawn and ample seating. But: The food was ok, but underwhelming. Service was ok, could have been better. This is such a beautiful venue with an old stone house (old enough to have been declared a national monument), gorgeous lane of yellowwood trees along the entry path, breathtaking garden with tall lush trees at the entrance... and then the rest leaves one underwhelmed. Do not expect a spectacular view of the waterfall. Expect to be placated by several placards instructing you what not to do. Perhaps more energy has been put into the function venue.

HOWICKS HIDDEN GEM One of the most tranquil settings on the beautiful old Fairfell Farm with views overlooking the Howick Falls. The House was built in 1870 and stone that was quarried on the farm was used to build the beautiful homestead. All the wood is mainly Yellowwood that came from the Yellowwood indigenous forests in the Karkloof. A wide range of great food at exceptionally reasonable prices. Services was attentive and efficient. All and all a great experience and stunning venue rich in history. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person R 100–150
