Good breakfast. Eggs were cooked perfectly. There were big portions. The only thing I would improve is the gravy. As a southerner, it was lacking. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Gravy

Sure enjoyed the family friendliness of our waitress. She made the experience wonderful. My food was very good. My wife was not happy with her breakfast and did not eat most of it. The atmosphere was very comfortable. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Traditional Breakfast

Home style cooking is what we were looking for and it was good food when all was said and done. But the rest of the story took on a differentflavor...it was dinner time and several customers arrived at the same time. The entry way of the restaurant is very small and does not lend itself to accomodating several incoming customers. The waitress was noticeably flustered as we were spilling into her pathway of retrieving ready orders. Not our fault the lay put of the place is awkward and small. Told everyone to wait, as she was rushing to deliver orders that were ready. There was a second server who was actively helping, she was flustered with him too. The wait wasn't too long and the waitress hurriedly seated all of us. It was hectic, we were all aware and she kept reminding us about it. Menus were brought, drink order taken while we were still in process of being seated. Order was taken quickly after receiving drinks. And then we waited. The other several couples who had arrived same time as us but seated and orders taken after us began to receive their meals. And they received quite quickly. Hmmm! We then noticed that soup/salad were being delivered to these customers and realized that in the rush we had not been asked if we even wanted any. (Which by the way was included in the price.) After watching the 4th couple receive their meals we politely stopped the waitress and asked if our order had been lost. She assured us it had not! And reminded us how extremely busy it was....as if we didn't know that. Our meal was delivered to us shortly after that. It was hot and delicious. Hats off to the cooks who were pumping out the meals like crazy to a hungry crowd. After traveling all day we were tired and hungry and we were thankful for a good meal. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience for us being first time visitors. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

They have gotten every dime out of this ole run down ¹place they possibly can and the building is very old . The food is extremely overpriced and the cheapest grade the suppliers ¹offer. ¹This is only one of two places to get breakfasts ¹so competition means nothing nor quality. The people that do the service are excellent and work very hard. Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2
I've eaten here before and have always been really impressed with the food, service, cleanliness and the friendly employees, but my most recent visit (myself, husband and 1yo daughter) didn't live up to the expectations we were left with from our previous experiences. Its an unusually busy restaurant, especially for the location, which given its hype over the decades, (Yes, you read that right DECADES... This little Cafe has been on the map for over 40 YEARS!) isn't surprising, nor was it nearly busy enough to have experienced the issues that were constantly occurring throughout the remainder of the evening as they should be plenty experienced to handle basically any situation without so much as missing a beat. We arrived just after 7pm (they close at 9) and there were quite a few people dining and picking up orders at that time. Immediately it seemed the Hostess/greeter was having issues relaying the simple diner requests to the kitchen staff who couldn't understand him due to a language barrier. This resulted in a slow, but steady pace of food being put to the window for delivery to the tables, but many seem were being sent back because of simple mistakes being made in the kitchen... Wrong dressing, wrong doneness of steak, undercooked this, overcooked that. The result was a wait of over an hour before we were served our simple meals that did not include any additions or special requests. This seemed to annoy our 18 month old daughter as well who was also bored. Because we weren't initially planning on dining at a restaurant, I didn't have any of her toys and the restaurant didn't have crayons, or child friendly activities to help keep her busy either. My bad, I wo t forget again, I'm sure of that, lol! Our meals were subpar at best. My husband got a basic ham and cheese omelet with hash browns and wheat toast and I chose the open faced hamburger patty dinner on "country bread" with mashed potatoes and gravy along with the evenings vegetable, which was corn 🌽 So, carbs, with a side of carbs, smothered in carbs 😋 Yummmm! The shredded hashbrowns were not edible on my husband's plate, because they were overcooked to the point they were beyond just crunchy... It sounded like you were eating potato chips instead when you attempted to chew them. The toast was hard, not just "toasty-crispy", but weird-hard, especially considering it wasnt burned or anything noticeable, and we had to request butter several times in an effort to soften it up a bit, to no avail. The omelet was to his liking though and the baby enjoyed it as well :) My food arrived unrecognizable because a plate-sized pool of overly salted, instant brown gravy hid everything underneath completely. I was able to locate the rest of the meal after poking around a bit to find the thin, instant mashed potatoes, open face burger patty and the "country bread" it was to be served on. Unfortunately, the meat was much too undercooked (I never gave been a fan of hamburger that's still bleeding) and the country bread was nothing more than an upside down Hamburger bun 😑 Which is cool, I wouldn't have even noticed if they hadn't played it up in the menu as something different/special). Didn't matter anyways because it was soggy from the gravy mess. Sighhhhh 😮‍💨 Since our food, for whatever reason, didn't come out of the kitchen at the same time, my hubby had finished his by the time i ws just getting mine and having enough fun himself, he took our wee-one out to the truck since she was sick of being there as well. After the original hour+ wait and lack of faith that they could correct the mistakes made anyways, I didn't feel it would do much good, of any to complain and I wasn't about to wait any longer. We live 2 hours away, so no coming back either. We chalked it up to an, "OH, well, that sucked" and moved on to the grocery store where I inevitably ending up getting what I needed to make a proper dinner at home anyways. The greeter guy must have sensed that I was becoming annoyed with it all and he did send us on our way with a single piece of pie. 👍 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 2
