I ordered two take away coffees at the Cafe window and it took 10min for a waiter to ask for my order and another 10min to make it. The shop was not busy and on multiple occasions I have had poor service at the take away window. Went here on the 17 Sept for some breakfast. Before entering we saw it was busy but thought nothing of it. We waited for a table, maybe 2 minutes. The table had a party of 3 and had some plates and mugs. We waited for a bit maybe 5 minutes, the host(one of the managers) then came to collect the dishes on the table but there was still some spillage and crumbs on the table, and some liquid on the seat. After 5 minutes the couple at the table next to us offered us a napkin to wipe the liquid on the seat. Another 5 minutes went by and the host eventually came to wipe the table, with a napkin... Why do the staff not have wet proper cleaning products? The host then apologies for the delay and says we are low on staff and there is loadshedding. At which point they walk away. We still haven't even placed a drinks order. 5 minutes pass and my girlfriend eventually goes to the coffee bar and orders us drinks. When our drinks are done (it was very quick, and tasted great and the lady was very friendly) we decide to take it as a takeaway. We pay by the lady at the coffee bar and leave. Just a tip if you are low on staff and have loadshedding, maybe limit the amount of tables instead of having a full house. There was also a lady manager who was just walking around. Maybe help your staff in the future get your hands dirty. Meal type Breakfast Price per person R 1–50

Great food, always extremely slow service. Waited 25 minutes for coffee & they gave it to us cold. Ended up taking the food as takeaway & only saw our waiter twice in about an hour.

We visit Woolies Café all over Cape Town and Village Square is the best of a great bunch. Don't come to a Woolies Café if you're in a rush! (unless it's for any of their "coffees on the go") . Good food always takes time! I can promise you that if you walk in with a smile and the intention of being intentional about making friends with the folk that serve you, you'll always feel at home at a Woolies Café. Not sure he'll be here for much longer but Mcebisi is the barista with no equal! We love you and your coffees Mcebisi...
