What a find! We actually were directed there by the waitress across the street. She said “if you want great food, you should go across the street”. What great food and great staff!
I willl be back to pick up a shirt and say hi to the best waitresses!

Even if it’s just for a beer or two, you have to go to Woody’s. It’s an experience. As one waitress put it, “We’re a five-star dive bar!” That sums it up. The walls are covered with stickers and notes from past patrons, and the wait staff practically dances from table to table. Everyone seems happy at Woody’s.
We went in (12/29/23) for just a beer and some onion rings/tater tots. The rings and tots were perfectly done, and the portions were HUGE! While we were there, a guy came in and bought a round of pricey tequila shots for the house. When he found out my wife grew up in the same town as he did back in the States, he bought her another round, then left with a group of friends to go to some other bar. Later, as we were preparing to leave, he returned, and bought ANOTHER round for the house!
I don’t know if stuff like that always happens at Woody’s, but I’d go back just for the rings, tots, and beer. Great place, don’t miss it!

In 2022, upon recommendation from staff at our hotel (Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel), my husband and I ate at Woody’s. We ordered the Fish and Chips and Crab Cake Sliders. The Fish and Chips were out of this world! The fish is fried to perfection and has the perfect amount of breading and crispness. The tartar sauce is amazing! The sauce is not what we are used to but is equally great (if not better)! Their curly fries are wonderful and fresh. Also, their “straight” fries are delicious with a great combination of salty spices. It’s hard to pick the best but I think the straight fries were our favorite of the 2!
The crab cakes were good too but I wouldn't get those again. We talked about the fish and chips all year and came back for 2nds (and 3rds) in 2023! The environment is a little rowdy (which is expected since it is a bar) but we got it to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel. We will be back!

Easily the best fish/shrimp tacos I’ve ever had! Everything blended together so perfectly when it came to the tacos. If my wife and I could eat here all the time we absolutely would. This place is the perfect little hole in the wall spot to eat lunch or dinner and grab a beer to go with it!

World famous happy hour! Everyday from 3-6. $2 Coors Light. Besides that this unsuspecting place has great food and a great vibe. Everyone is always super friendly as well. We love Woody’s.

We use to go every Sunday in costume. Colors light for a buck? We showered ourselves with them. The twins hated us :)
Super hot bartenders, staff and The place is a party from 3 to 6 every day. And, of course, the party usually lingers long after 6pm. If your on St John, and you drink, it's a must visit.

This place looks like a hole in the wall when you first see it, but that's part of it's charm! It has a very island-y vibe to it and the food was absolutely delicious. I tried the shrimp taco, mahi taco, crab cake sliders and shark bites. All were so delicious, but I think my favorite was the shrimp taco (that's a tough call though). Others had the peel and eat shrimp and they said that was their favorite. The service was great, very friendly and the place was a fun place to hang out and have a few painkillers. I'll definitely visit this place again if I come back to St. John. Highly recommended!
If your heading to St John US Virgin Island you must stop at Woody's Seafood Saloon. They are hands down the "It Bar" hosting the Best Happy Hour on the island with delicious exotic cocktails and large assortment of tasty beers. They don't offer your average bar food no siree. Our favorite appetizer was the mouthwatering Peel & Eat Shrimp Maryland style. We also enjoyed the flavorful Conch Fritter and Cruz Bay Crack Wings.
What stuck out to me the most, was even though the bar was rocking and rolling the staff provided the greatest customer service. As the kids say Woodys is a vibe!
