What an absolutely wonderful wine place to accidentally stumble upon while getting my morning coffee. James was the name of the gentleman who helped me and really took his time explaining the shop and it’s history and nearly all of the wines in stock one by one. I ended up, leaving with four separate bottles, all new to me, and I am very excited to try them. This place is approachable and well laid out and I will make sure that I visit anytime that I’m in the area. I highly recommend just popping in for a look and maybe a quick sip of wine.
The BEST wine shop/tastings in LA 😤 So affordable and with wines you can’t get anywhere else due to the fact that their importer is a part of their few yet mighty staff. It’s rare to find a wine shop where the owner and staff travels around the world to find extraordinary smaller wineries/producers. Wine Stop does not follow trends, they are tastemakers. And despite the unassuming name, it’s true to it… a perfect place to stop for wine. They also have snacks, sauces, balsamic vinegars, olive oils, tinned fish, Japanese beers, and more! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so don’t be afraid to ask them for help. Love this shop, they have a customer for life.

Happy Thursday!!🥳🥳🥳 aka @winestop’s wine & cheese night🎉 This cute shop is located right outside of Arts District in DTLA and they offer an amazing wine selection at affordable prices. The owner, Alvarado is super knowledgeable about every wine as he goes to each vineyard in Europe to source his bottles👏🏻 🍽Ordered: 1. Wine & cheese night tickets which includes 3 cheese plates & 3 wine pairings Their wines are always delicious and each Thursday a different pairing is showcased. The tapas that come with each wine are fresh and keep you filled while the wine is flowing. This place is a great spot to come with besties for a casual and fun time. 🌟Tips: -parking in that area is a little difficult sometimes but there is a parking lot around the back of the building that you may be able to park at -come before 8pm since they close around 9/9:30 pm -get tickets for wine & cheese night in advance on their website 💰Price: $25/pp for wine & cheese

I walked in yesterday with specific criteria: a red under $25, perhaps a cab. I walked out in less than 15 minutes with an incredible red for under $22. I loved walking into the wine stop because it felt like I got a guided tour through the shop's wine options. Will definitely go back again!
About two weeks before our wedding, we had to change bar services and scramble to figure out how to provide all of our own alcohol for the event. We contacted Alvaro at Wine Stop DTLA and he invited us down to the shop to taste some wines, confident that he could figure something out for us on such short notice. He let us taste a few different reds, whites, and sparkling options and they were all delicious. Once we picked what we liked, he gave us a bulk order discount and worked with our coordinator to deliver the wines to our venue seamlessly. Truly one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had! We're still working our way through the bottles we have leftover from our wedding but once we're out we'll be sure to re-stock up at Wine Stop!
Wine Stop is reason enough to move to DTLA. You won't find a better shop with better wines at better prices anywhere in the Los Angeles area. I stopped in out of curiosity after spending an afternoon writing at a nearby cafe and I walked out with two bottles. Now, you should know that Wine Stop does not have all the brand names you'll be looking for. I find this to be truly exciting, but some might find it reason to go elsewhere. Wine Stop offers California exclusive wines. That means you can only find their wines at their store. The result? They say better prices and better quality. While I can't vouch for the "better" prices, I can say the quality you get at the price you pay is incredible. I sampled a few bottles in the store, then I purchased a Rosé and a Red. A friend of mine and I shared the Rosé, and it was just as they said: zesty, refreshing and dry. Just the way I like it. It was good enough that I plan to drive across the city just so I can purchase a new box. They also have a tasting area and they offer a variety of happy hours through the week. It's off the beaten path, at the edge of the Arts District, but it's worth planning a stop if you're visiting DTLA and enjoy a good bottle of wine.
Alvaro has the greatest selection of Wine! We recommend to all our friends and family.
When considering the purchase of a bottle of wine, the most important name on the label is the importer. When you love a particular bottle of wine, then you share a palate with the importer that made your purchase possible. What sets the best wine importers apart are their abilities to bring wines that are equally stunning regardless of the price. This is what I’ve found with every purchase I’ve made at The Wine Stop and the only other place I can compare it to is Kermit Lynch. You’ll also find a deep informed history provided to you by the connoisseur handling your transactions at the shop.
This is my favorite wine shop in Los Angeles. This shop has an excellent selection of exclusive European wines at fabulous prices. The tastings on Thursdays are fantastic. Not only is this a great place for meeting friends or going alone, it is a great place for events whether it’s the alcove which accommodates 10 to 15 people or the main space which can accommodate 30 people. Alvaro has curated the most memorable wine experience at his shop in the Arts District. It’s dog friendly too!!
I LOVE THIS PLACE. First of all : the wines are an absolute steal, they are so well priced. They are hand picked from suppliers overseas, and I have enjoyed every bottle I tried. John is the kindest, and always has a great recommendation for any occasion. He will offer you tastings, and help you pick something out that you will be happy with. Truly personal touch.. Must visit for wine lovers, the best in arts district, and we never buy wine anywhere else.
