Amazing service from Nick, Ketlyn and the other staff members, I have thoroughly enjoyed eating here as my Portuguese is not great at all but Nick’s English was second to none, I was expecting to have to use google translate but the guy understood me perfectly and he communicated in perfect English, made me feel at home, that’s why I kept coming back during my stay here in Portugal, I was made feel welcome, the food was great and I couldn’t fault the place in any way, service was 10 out of 10 same as food and atmosphere, I’ll definitely be back for the summer holiday and I can’t wait to come back, once again thank you to all the staff members @Willem

After reading the reviews, I was confident we would really like this restaurant. Unfortunately, the opposite was true. My husband was looking forward to "English" style fish and chips. Funny thing about that - they were about as good as fish sticks from a box (think Captain Highliner). Obviously frozen fish sticks, fries from frozen as well. I did enjoy my peanut chicken satay. This restaurant was just okay - we will not return as there are so many others to choose from.

We ate at this restaurant on our first day and went back most other day staff are fantastic and interacted with us. The menu is great and lots of unusual items on it but also a few of the staples. It is after all a Dutch restaurant so to expect English food is a little harsh

We chose this restaurant as it was bustling, and we hoped that reflected the quality. We waited 40 minutes for our food, which we wouldn't have minded if the food had been good. My husband ordered fish and chips, and we assumed it would be battered fresh fish or similar. I ordered a burger. Both the fish and burger patties were highly processed, from frozen, and on par with the quality from Birdseye or Tesco frozen foods. Chips were not great. Milkshakes were very thin. Overall, sadly, just not high quality food and so not worth the wait or the money.

Absolutely appalling service . Arrived at 8.30pm.Shown to table with dirty glasses and plates. Waiter fetched light across and made no effort to remove dirty dishes. . Sat for an hour before anyone even came to offer us a drink or menu .(on holiday so don't like to make a fuss) Whilst waiting for an hour other diners walked in had menu drinks and food before anyone even had took our order. No apologies what so ever. Whilst waiting for an hour and a half a group of young people came in had seats menus and drinks within 10 minutes. My husband raised his hand for the waiter to acknowledge him as we seemed invisible. He just looked walked away and never came back. Staff deliberately seemed to be turning their backs on us whilst going to other tables to serve other people. Very ignorant. Also as we both ordered the most expensive thing on menu fillet steaks were not even given a steak knife. Fillet steak was quite tough as even a normal knife had trouble cutting through it . We always leave a tip at end of meal . First time ever we have not as service was so disgraceful.If you are Dutch or Portuguese you seem to be made very welcome but if you are British seems total opposite.

In an area where there is abundant good quality fresh fish I was very disappointed to be served processed fish. Also the tables are so close together that it was almost impossible to get out from my table, I can't imagine the chaos if there was an emergency.

Hub and i have visited Willem several times in September 2023 Friendly staff and atmosphere, seating inside and outside.
Food good, Great salads and burgers, drinks reasonable price.
Popular place, so recommend booking a table especially for weekend to avoid disappointment, can get quite lively.
Free Carparking in low season across the road.
