Surprised they don't offer their Sunday lunch during holiday season - that's why we'd gone there. Also as figs aren't in season, we couldn't get the fig steak special. Instead had chicken and waffles - overall experience was ok. It's unlicensed, so you can take your own alcohol. We didn't know that until we got there, so just had milkshakes. DECEMBER 2023: Under new management. New menu. (The pepper sauce I raved about last year has not made it onto the new menu. Disappointing.) Reserve a table during holiday season. No liquor licence, bring your own and corkage fee applies. Great coffee. Still pet friendly inside but no other accommodations are made for pets, no water offered. Did not see the chickens. Service declined somewhat. This time some menu items have figs. I had the blue cheese and fig burger which had a great beef patty (chicken or beef patty option) and a mild blue cheese flavour sauce with slices of preserved green figs. We also ordered the cheese burger and it came with alot of cheese, very good. We had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, the chicken was tender with crispy coating and the mushroom sauce was great. Improvement to be made as the chips were okay and onion ring batter is light and crispy, it was a shame that it was not well drained. Oil dripped out of the onion rings in our plates. Had to pat them down with serviettes to eat. Won't be visiting soon. Visited DECEMBER 2022: I was disappointed that none of the items in the menu had figs, not even the deserts. I would highly recommend the Big Boy Burger and the Pina Colada. The best pepper sauce I've ever had. A must for the pepper lovers. Zelmien, our waitresses, is lovely. The restaurant is pet friendly(leashes at all times), please be aware that there is a rooster and a hen that walks around on the property. Great outdoor fun available for the kids. Their operating hours have changed but it does not reflect on Google or their Facebook page. Please give them a call if you are unsure. Would definitely visit again. I was at The Wild Fig a year ago. I remember it was very good, but I was somehow surprised how it now seemed even better than before. I'm not sure what changed, but they raised the bar. It was pretty quiet when we went, but the service was super fast. Maybe it is different when it gets busy, but I was really impressed today. This venue is really awesome if you have children. They disappear and have loads of fun. They food is fantastic and beautiful.
Beautiful setting. Smaller children will love the chance to interact with the farm animals. The service was a bit disjointed though. I don't think that they are that well geared for a table larger than 6. The menu offers a wide variety and the portions are good.
We decided to head here for brunch, but hadn't realised that it had only reopened a day before! The menu was limited, but the service was wonderful and the food was delicious, and beautifully presented. We were even greeted by the new chef who was really friendly and welcoming. Plus the spot was gorgeous and open, and there was the most adorable baby pig in the petting zoo 🐖 Meal type Brunch Price per person R 200–250 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
