I only order my latte plain, so there is no hiding the use of subpar beans or poor techniques. This cafe used beans that have a creamy and sweet taste all on their own. The barista who made the cup did not scald the milk, was able to get a good amount of foam without turning it into a cappuccino, and left a beautiful design on top.
As I waited for my latte, I discovered they make all their own croissants right there in house, so… I waited… and I was not disappointed!! Whitebark Cafe knows what they are doing! Not only the best latte in 1000 miles in any direction, but also fresh croissants as good as any that I had while touring France.

What delicious pastries!! Show up early before they run out. I’m from an east coast big city with dozens of cafes/pastry shops, and this place is head and shoulders above those. What a crispy, flaky, delicious croissant! All highly recommended. Kudos to the pastry chef.

I tried all the coffee shops/ bakeries in town, and this is by far the best. Fresh, crispy pastries. Fresh fruit on the pastries.. others in town looked old and not appetizing. Other croissants in town were sort of soggy and did not seem fresh.
I always order mochas when I travel, which is an easy way to judge the quality of the coffee drinks. Whitebark has an exceptional mocha. Others in town tasted like pure sugar and clearly used cheap syrups, couldn’t taste the coffee at all. Whitebark’s tasted like rich coffee with quality chocolate 😍

I stopped in for just a cup of coffee and left with an iced latte, pastry, and a loaf of bread; and I’m glad I did. The latte was great but the bread and pastry were fugetaboudid! Just so I’m crystal clear that is a compliment of the highest order from this New Yorker.
The staff were awesome to chat with and when we’re back in Lander we’ll be stopping in again.

Just passing through lander. These were the most perfect pastries. They could give anywhere in NYC or Europe a huge run for their money. The pastries have the perfect even delicate flake. Unparalleled. The best I've ever had. The bread looked fantastic too. I wish I bought a baguette or sourdough. These bakers really know what they're doing. The coffee was quite excellent too. This place is a breakfast gem. Incredible.

Per recommendation, they have their pastries DOWN. We got a loaf of sourdough, chocolate croissant, chai and a matcha! Everyone was so friendly and we will be back every time we climb in lander :) 10/10
