We made a stop while traveling. The bbq is average. We shared 2 sampler platters with 6 adults. The picnic tables were nice. There are not any bathrooms. The owner wasn’t there and the girl taking the order was not very friendly. The menu is posted in the photo. Cash or Zelle/Venmo only. Probably won’t stop there again. It does seem to be popular with the locals.

Traveling from Houston to Dallas over the holidays, I wanted to get my BBQ fix. Stopped by with friends and glad we did. The Brisket was beyond fork tender; the rub was perfect. Didn't need the sauce but used anyway, it was just the right amount of tang, it really added to the flavor. Portion size was great, had a hard go finishing my plate and the wife's left overs, i had to skip the cobbler, but it was extremely satisfying.
Really liked the potato salad with a bit of pickle in it. Bacon green beans were great too. I recommend you give it a try.

Great place to stop while passing through town! We split the 2 meat- brisket and sausage. Brisket was very tender and had great flavor. We enjoyed the sausage, coleslaw, green beans, and baked beans. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere was really neat!

Whiskey River BBQ in some of the best I've ever eaten in my life and it was just awesome I recommend you go there and eat as much as you can I drove from Mexia Texas to Buffalo to get some and I don't regret it I'll go back again
