I ordered bowl of chili soup. They offered onions and cheese to go with it.
The atmosphere is old school. The counters are Formica. The taste of the $3.25 coffee reminds me more of Starbucks and less of Two Guns coffee shop. That’s just fair; considering the price bracket.
The whole experience (chili and free flow coffee) was $16 total. That’s including tips.
It got really busy around 11:45 am. I vacated my bar seat for a customer who really wanted the seat.

This cafe has lots of personality. Old time feel. We stopped by to grab a quick breakfast on our way to the airport. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I was a bit hesitant because I am a fan of holindase sauce. This place makes a "cheese sauce." Much to my delight, the cheese sauce was very nice. Not too cheesy. The dinner is definitely nostalgic, old feel. This is a lovely neighborhood diner. Stop by this place a have a great meal.

What a great old-fashioned breakfast diner.
Employees are sweet and so are the people that eat there! We drove from North Hollywood (50 min drive). Well worth it!! Will do it again.

Wendy's Place in El Segundo radiates small-town charm, complemented by friendly service and a cash-only policy that adds to its unique appeal. The French Toast truly hit the spot with each delicious bite. The experience is elevated by the use of porcelain plateware and coffee cups, adding a touch of elegance to your visit. Convenient parking, despite occasional busyness, makes it a must-visit spot for those seeking both nostalgia and a satisfying meal!

Wendy's Place is awesome! Hard to find a good old school diner like this these days. I had dropped off a friend at LAX early in the morning and was hungry and needed a bathroom before sitting in rush hour traffic back to Pasadena. A quick search for an open diner near me lead me to finding this gem. The man working the dining area was very nice and welcoming. I wish I had gotten his name. The whole place was comforting and welcoming, comfortable booths, wood paneled walls covered in faded and yellowed Norman Rockwell and Saturday Evening Post artwork. Everyone in the place seemed happy, from the staff to the customers. There was a group of 3 or 4 older gentlemen, regulars and definitely old friends, scattered around the place that were chatting and giving each other a hard time in that way only a good friend can (it was hilarious). The food was great, the coffee was strong and never ending, The server tried to send me off with a big to-go cup of coffee but I had already had more than my fill of caffeine for the day.
In other words, I loved this place and can't wait to go back. Almost tempted to move to El Segundo just to be a regular at Wendy's Place. ❤️
