My friend took me here today and I was very impressed. We started with cream cheese wontons and steamed dumplings. The cream cheese wontons were fried perfectly and had the right amount of cream cheese inside. The dumplings were very juicy and flavorful! For our main dishes we got the vermicelli noodle salads! Mine was the number 4 subbed with grilled pork. She got the grilled beef! The meat was perfect and honestly is the best part anytime I order this anywhere. They did a great job with that. I even got a taste of the beef and wish I had that one! 😍 Definitely coming back!! 💕 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. It's not much if you're looking for atmosphere, but the food is well prepared and reasonably priced. They also offer the standard "Chinese" entrees - which I have not tried but assume are prepared equally well. If you like soup, try the "dry noodle" soup. After the recent price increases, I don't think I'll be going here much at all anymore. They are not competitive compared to Chipotle next door or Mandarin Yang a little ways down 101. The food was only ever decent. I mainly get the Cashew Chicken. Sometimes the cashews aren't fully shelled and often the chicken has chunks of gristle and cartilage. Plus the soy sauce they give you is low quality and there is a lot of plastic packaging waste. If they are going to charge $20 a dish, then I feel like we should be getting high quality breast meat, not cheap thigh meat (not to mention fully shelled cashews!). Previously, I was OK with paying a few bucks more than Chipotle to support a family business. But now that it's nearly $10 more expensive, I just can't justify it. Especially since I can drive a few more blocks and get the same dish for $16 at Mandarin Yang (better quality too). Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Absolutely great food, extremely quick service and the young lady that waited on us was great. The young fella that seated us was disagreeable and peculiar and in an empty restaurant would not allow us to sit where we requested. Overall great experience with very good food! I am a great fan of Vietnamese food and honestly, I couldn’t be happier to have discovered Viet Hoa. Their pho is delicious and very flavourful. I would say - perhaps one of the best bowls of pho restaurants in the Twin Cities. Had pho, spring rolls, and egg rolls. Food was not bad but not amazing. One star off super odd looking meat that looks like it can definitely make you sick and another off their condiments. I believe the owner said it was because of freezer burn but still, it should not be served still looking like that. They use small cheap packs of hoisin and Sriracha sauce. Our server was pretty chill and attentive. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

We tried Viet Hoa takeout tonight for the first time and we LOVED it! We ordered the banh mi, plain Pho, egg rolls and sweet & sour chicken. The pho really hit the spot and we both inhaled it! Excellent banh mi, super fresh, delicious toasted bread. The staff was super friendly upon pickup and the restaurant was very clean. We will definitely be coming back! Horrible customer service. I ordered a chicken fried rice and received shrimp fried rice. I called and told them about it in a polite way and the guy who answered argued with me saying I ordered a shrimp fried rice. I am allergic to shrimp. Ive been a constant customer at this restaurant and i am truly disappointed. The guy had an attitude and told me he would get my order wrong again, “And I would do it again”. Please do not order from here if you expect good customer service. The service is very rude and disrespectful. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Mild Szechuan Chicken Experience I recently tried the Szechuan Chicken at this restaurant, and I must say the experience was a bit underwhelming. The chicken itself was well-cooked and had a pleasant taste, but it lacked the distinctive kick that one might associate with Szechuan cuisine. The absence of bold spices and the characteristic numbing sensation left the dish feeling more like a generic chicken stir-fry than a true Szechuan delight. While the meal was enjoyable in its own right, those expecting an authentic Szechuan spice experience might find themselves yearning for a bit more flavor complexity. **Definition of Szechuan Spice:** Szechuan spice refers to the distinct combination of flavors associated with the cuisine of the Szechuan region in China. It typically includes the heat from Szechuan peppercorns, which induce a tingling or numbing sensation, along with the spiciness of various chili peppers. This dynamic blend creates a flavor profile that is bold, aromatic, and known for its unique and fiery character. The ambiance and service were commendable, but it's crucial to set realistic expectations when ordering the Szechuan Chicken at this establishment.
