About
Right after seeing Praia Formosa Beach Madeira, come here for a meal. If you're a Portuguese cuisine lover, come here. At this restaurant, clients may order nicely cooked francesinha, monkfish and sandwiches. It's time to relax and eat tasty croissants and good cheesecakes. As guests write in their comments, beer offered at Viana is delicious. It's nice to try great coffee. This place is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Average prices at this spot are good news for its customers. You will certainly like the pleasant ambiance and nice decor. Google gives it 4.6 so you can select this restaurant to spend a good time here.

We have had desserts from here about 12 times in the last 3 weeks. The food (you might guess, as we keep coming back) is very good. The people working there always have a smile, (especially when I speak Portuguese).

We found a vegetarian francesinha and it was perfect! What an amazing place. They have something for everyone on their menu (they even have plant-based milk). Great variety of cocktails and beer. Their pastries, I believe, are made in heaven and brought down by angels. It’s a nice spot away from the touristy part of town. They offer indoor and outdoor seating They are so attentive, kind and courteous even when they’re busy. Super recommend this place

Awesome food for brunch and nice coffee. Was visiting during the week so getting a place to sit was no issue. Will definitely come again for the nice pastry and sandwiches! In the end we ended up coming on two different occasions during our stay in Madeira.

Super wide selection of delicious pastries, absolute bargain prices, and very kind service. We loved everything we ordered. Rare for Madeira so worth mentioning that one also gets a decent black tea :)

Very good place to get amazing breakfast, toasts, salads, desserts, pastries, caffees and more. Good food, nice place with terrace.
Our favourite place on Madeira! We spent a 1,5month there and we visited Viana everyday. Sweets and coffee are amazing but they also have sandwiches, pasta and soup. It’s often full of people but it’s worth waiting and the staff is super friendly. We will miss this place! :)

From the coffee to the lunch, even the sweets are truly delicious with reasonable prices. Love it here. I was even able to get a little work done on the laptop between snacking and drinking. Although, if wishing to work a little here I would strongly suggest noise cancelling headphones (AirPods will suffice) As it does get a little loud and busy… and for great reason. Can’t wait to return when I’m back on this island.

A café/bakery/confectionery shope with a large selection of desserts. I was told the owner is from northern Portugal so they make products typical also from that part of the country. I was recommended by one Madeiran person to have their Francesinha toast with fries which is originally from Porto and is very popular there. I have seen many Portuguese eating this toast in Madeira too. The toasted bread was filled with a piece of roast meat, bacon, something more, then cheese, then the bread was topped with fried egg and the whole thing was covered in some kind of tomato sauce. For me it was just too overcombined, I wouldn´t have this again. But I do understand they make it like this and they enjoy this toast the way it is. It is said that it was inspired by the French croque monsieur but of course croque monsieur is a totally different level, so delicious. So I didnt enjoy the Francesinha toast but it is not the fault of this café, it just didnt meet my preference and taste.
