We stopped by for a bird exhibit that was being held in the rear of the building. The bartender was a very sweet lady and was patient with the kids as they ordered their Shirley Temples. She even provided extra cherries for them and watched their toys while we spent a few moments browsing the bird exhibit. This post is very tidy and well decorated. As a first timer, other patrons made us feel warm and welcome.

I wanted to give the Thursday afternoon euchre group a try, but despite arriving 25 minutes before the listed start time games were well in progress and I was treated as if I was very late. When I chose not to stay under the circumstances I was told not to return. Edit: I appreciate the point that the euchre group merely uses the VFW space. The start time listed in the calendar apparently does not reflect the expectations of the euchre group. Perhaps that could be adjusted. But as I was specifically told not to return I certainly will not try the euchre group again. I can't imagine how it could possibly be pleasant. I'm sure the VFW as whole is a welcoming place and worth a try. The euchre group clearly is not, at least for me.
It's in an old bowling alley. Bar area is large with room for dancing. Old bowling lanes area makes a great space for private gathers of just about any sort. I know they have Friday fish fry but not sure about other food. Prices are right and bartenders make a great old fashion. Crowd is older but very friendly.

Awesome Post, The food is fresh and made to order, good drink menu and selection. Staff is attentive and engaging and they offer everything from games, sports plays, pool and music. Has become my go-to.
Great neighborhood gathering place! Public welcome! No need to be a member to enter! Check out live music on Friday nights! The bar manager, Suzanne is a love and great bartender. Their food is hot and delicious. Especially the roast beef sandwich! They follow social distancing and staff wear masks. Be sure to check out their fish fry! Shout out to my favorite bartender, ERICK!
Classic Fish Fry, better than church, larger portions and reasonably priced, and served by people that really care. Cash only though, which needs to change. Very busy but lots of seating short wait at a decent bar with great drinks. Baked and fried cod, walleye and Chicken too. Fries were good despite whiny review.
Decent fish fry (and steak fry, brat fry, other food events) paired with down home pub atmosphere. They have great bands (live, oldies.) Entertainment without the pretention. Plus, 4 mixed drinks for less than $15. Its your perfect next night out.
Fun event location. It was rented for a party. Facility had tables and chairs to use. Bar was stocked and had bartenders for mixing drinks. Plenty of space to host a large event
