If you're looking for the best Italian bakery in Philadelphia, look no further! Varallo Bros has everything that you could want from an Italian bakery: cannoli, pastries, gelato, breads, cakes, cookies, and more. They've been a part of South Philadelphia's culture since 1981 - that's 43 years, if you're counting. So lucky to have them at my doorstep. Give them all of your money 💯

The pastries and gelato at Varallos are absolutely delicious but what makes this place so special are the amazing people that work there. My wife and I went in a few minutes before they closed on Wednesday night and we just had the best experience for the 5 minutes we were there. Thank you ladies! You really elevated our experience just by being yourselves - sweet!
A typical old school Italian family owned bakery. We stopped by to pick something. It was not much crowded. The staff was very sweet. We started with an affogato, a typical Italian espresso drink. It was decent. The coffee was good, and the gelato was mediocre. They have tons of cookies and pastries, and cannoli. The cannoli was decent, however not the best, imo. Some of the cookies were great, and some of them were not so great. I don’t like synthetic almond essence. There are many cookies and pastries where they use a generous amount of that essence, which are not so good. Overall a decent place. In most of the cases Italian bakeries are like this in old towns.
