I love this store although the woman who attempted to help me had absolutely no idea what a pastry mat was and showed me all manner of things that were nothing like what I was looking for. Perhaps get people who know something about baking and aren’t rude. I can almost always find what I’m looking for here.

I love Vanilla Bean! My go to shop for all things baking, cookie and cake decorating! They cater to professionals too so you know everything is great quality. The staff is always so helpful, even with all my weird questions!!

I am not a professional baker, I’m not even a very good part timer. But the Vanilla Bean has been around for a very, very long time in Madison, which in itself says all that needs to be said about this business. They do what they do really well, their staff is great, their selection is wonderful. When I leave Madison, one of the few places I will miss is being able to go there for whatever thing I need. And if I ever come back, they will still be there. ❤️

This is an amazing shop with wonderfully kind and helpful employees. I always have a question about how to do something and leave with answers, and a smile, every time! So thankful this is in Madison - we're lucky!

This tiny shop has SO many flavors inside! They had exactly what I was looking for - anise oil and baker's ammonia for my Christmas Springerle recipe, plus a huge selection of vanilla extracts. Staff were friendly, helpful, and mask safety protocols are followed. As a trans girl, I felt comfortable dressing feminine there, which is important to me :) Thank you, Vanilla Bean!

This is a cute little kitchenware/ baking supply shop. I've been coming to this shop for at least 10 years, usually when I realize I need something for a baking project last minute. If there is a small kitchen gadget you're looking for, or a specific cookie cutter they probably have it. What I like best about Vanilla Bean, is their assortment of food colorings and flavorings.

I remember shopping there when I was planning my wedding 25 years ago. I started regularly shopping there over the past 3 years. The friendly staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. It is honestly with this help, that I am able to stay home and bake cookies as a home business!
