I have tried several items from their menu so far, each one was fresh, delicious and high quality. It reflects the care and love this family puts into their food. They are hard working and it shows. Yall it’s this reason right here why I love VanEllie’s. I called a couple hours ago panicking because my pregnant wife wanted a cake rather than what I actually prepared for her birthday celebration. All I asked was if it was possible to purchase one of her flourless chocolate cakes and she went above and beyond to not only make my wife feel special but also made me look like a superstar husband. Apart from this situation every pastry and sweet we’ve had here as been unbelievable. Thanks for saving the day VanEllie’s!!! Service Take out Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I thought I would support a local bakery and purchase a few items for my family for dessert. I saw the great reviews and was looking forward to trying their desserts. I bought a chocolate cupcake, a caramel pecan brownie, and a pecan pie tart for my family. The lady at the counter was nice but did not have a proper box for the cupcake because the frosting was tall, so she taped it up partially opened and asked if that was okay. They looked yummy. However, we were severely disappointed in not one, not two, but all three desserts. The cupcake was a jumbo cupcake. It was very dense, physically heavy, and extremely dry to where it just crumbled in your fingers. The flavor was not good. I thought it was a chocolate cupcake, that's what I asked for, but it had a strong dry coffee taste. My husband spit it out it was so dry. We ended up throwing out half of it. (A family member said a Hostess Cupcake is better and a lot cheaper). We then tried the brownie. It also was very dry and crumbly and even hard to cut. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be that hard or if it was overcooked, we threw over half of it away. It was as bad or worse than the cupcake. Lastly was the pecan pie tart. It was also very dry. There was hardly any filling, so it was like eating a dry (not flakey) tart crust with dried pecans on top. After one bite we threw it away as well. I do my best to support local establishments. However, at the same time when you pay over $6 for a single brownie or cupcake there needs to be quality in the product, and it needs to be edible. All three of the items were overpriced for the quality as they were substandard and not edible. I will not be back.
