they make bread to sell to stores , but buying from then directly is out of this world, best bread in chicago, and i tried many custom bakeries, the store is simple as its not made to sell to customers directly, that's how you know its good , they don't need fancy advertizing

Bread is very high quality and made with only natural ingredients. Cheaper to buy from then than at Skokie grocery stores. Bring cash. Don’t expect a nice store, but you can expect friendly service!!! My parents buy bread here every time they visit us from Wisconsin. They deserve your service!
I bought a Бородинский Ржаной Хлеб yesterday at a City Fresh Market and this is not a food. It has a texture of a rubber and tastes like a plastic and I’m afraid to eat it. Definitely I will never buy any products by this brand again
I'm never sold on breads with wheat flour, I don't know why, less fiber, lighter in color, not as wholesome, but there is the one of the few exceptions with no wheat, I'm not gluten-free, but the taste is really somethingelse , & that's this Val's Bakery's Slavyansky Bread, which I get at my local Caputo's; never been to their store in Skokie but I'd probably inspect it for cleanliness if I ever went. It has rye flour, malt, sour, yeast, & salt; nothing else, I wish they made other wheat-free breads, so I'm going to ask if I ever go say hello or try to call them.
Pretty funky place but for amazing bread I love it. Weird thing is that they have a display and a store front but very often there is nothing on display. You just ask them what you would like and they go get it. Their pumpernickel is amazing and really like coming here. They supply a lot of stores around but it's so much better if you get it straight from them. Check it out! Also really cheap!
