Cute restaurant with a beautiful view of the valley. Meal taste and selection is okay but nothing to write home about. Chestnuts are interesting but pretty dry. Cake selection is great though! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–25 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Nice place to sit and enjoy the view after a hike. The food was tasty reasonably priced. Nothing special but it was exactly what we needed after a hike in the sunshine. As always in Madeira, order the garlic bread. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

After visiting the houses called in for lunch. Wow. I ordered a steak cutlet it filled the plate about 40mm thick I couldn't eat it all worth every euro 19 to be exact. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great little place for a snack, good spot to park, snack and walk about for a bit. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person €5–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Passion Fruit Cake
Great spot for a coffee and more. We had mid-morning coffees, cake and chestnut liqueurs. However, the roasting oven promised more, had we arrived later. Stunning setting. Toilets fine. Staff very friendly. Nice craft shops nearby. E13 for two including tip. Service Dine in Meal type Other
Typical tourist restaurant - expensive and ordinary. We chose it because others were closed but wouldn't recommend. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €10–15 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Lucky to find this place while exploring. It shows good taste in food when you get a proper squeezy bottle of 'Heinz' ketchup to enjoy your steak with. Very different dishes here based on local chestnuts (try the chestnut bread :) Food was very reasonable price and the whole thing feels very local and personal rather than commercial. A very chilled out environment with amazing views, great food and friendly staff. There is a museum as part of the establishment that is free to customers so take a look after your meal as it is worth the time. Local produce also sold, everything chestnut and every imaginable liquor.
Stay away from this place. Very unfriendly staff. Nasty people. No visible menu - ordered tea, steak sandwich and Pastel de Nata - EUR 10. Most definitely - the most expensive I have paid on the Island for two weeks. Way overpriced! I wouldn't mind if the staff was at least nice. One waiter was literally standing behind our backs all the time we were eating. I would recommend going to different place! Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Decent place to have lunch while visiting Curral das Freiras. The chestnut soup was actually pretty good, a hearty soup similar to Sopa da Pedra. The fish was ok, nothing special. Same for the chestnut cheesecake. At the end, they offer liqor for you to try. Fair prices considering the amazing view you can enjoy while eating. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €15–20
