When you come to this amazing place please look for this wonderful Brazilian girl her name is Carol. She will definitely take a good care of you also she knows everything about wine. Restaurant with a good view of Praca Livraria across the Duoro River. Naturally a seat by the window facing the river is preferred but you have to be early. They have English menu. Ordered their Linguine with Clams and Creme Brûlée with Chocolate Ice Cream for dessert. And a glass of Rose wine. The linguine tasted sour. I hope it’s because for whatever reason they decided to add lemon juice. As I polished through the pasta and the clams, I found one dead clam in the mix. Strangely it didn’t smell funky at all or I would have tasted it right away. Creme brûlée was served in a shallow plate. Most of the egg custard already melted below the glazed sugar. So the food isn’t fantastic but I assure you the view is one to kill for. Unfortunately it started to rain (again!) and that sort of spoiled the view a bit. Ended up ordering the charcuterie board and they had a very nice pumpkin jam to pair with the meats and cheeses. I was quite delighted with it. The view is also absolutely gorgeous. The best octopus I’ve ever had! The texture plus the sauce is so great! And this restaurant has the best location which is right on the Gaia side of the river bank and you can overlook the river, the bridge and the city. Highly recommended! We had lunch in Uva by Calem restaurant in March 2023. The restaurant offers an elegant ambiance and offers excellent views of Ribeira. We opted for a lunch menu containing a starter, a main dish, dessert, coffee, and a bottle of water. As a starter, we had vegetable soup and a veal carpaccio. The soup was very tasty, and the carpaccio was excellent. As the main dish, we chose stuffed cuttlefish. The filling of the cuttlefish was perfectly cooked prawns. We had mango ice cream and an apple biscuit with almond ice cream as a dessert. All the food was excellent, and the price of € 21 per person was moderate. The service was friendly and courteous. To summarize, we had a great lunch and strongly recommend this restaurant. Like any of my reviews, of course, this review is related to the type of restaurant, the restaurant's gastronomic objective, the overall gastronomic quality of the respective city, and the general context and needs to get compared to similar types of restaurants.
