Visited last night for the first time and both my daughter and I had a great time! We ate downstairs before the concert and the food was really good. (Try the dry rub on the cheese curds! 😉) Prices were good, service was great, and the clown lounge is super unique! Upstairs for the concert was awesome as well. Such an up close and personal experience with the performers. The sound was good and the bar staff was great as well. I will be watching to see what other bands play here so I can come back!!
Old school bar atmosphere. Nice and rustic with a decent dance floor. Seating is mostly high tops. The liquor selection is limited. But you'll find something to imbibe. It is a dive. You'll smell last night's beer for sure.

Went here last night to see the performer "That 1 Guy" with his Magic Mustache Club pre-magic show. The performance was mind-blowingly astonishing, with just a single person playing an instrument he designed himself showering us in a sonic onslaught of surf bass and visuals. It was one of the best live performances that I have seen in my lifetime. Also ordered the Diamond Dog wrapped in pepper bacon with onion rings. It's fine for bar food. I wanted to stay sober and enjoy the performance, but if I had some wine to go with this, I would have finished the whole thing. Great crowd, ambiance, atmosphere, you name it! 10/10, would return to see another show.

Great cozy venue and bar. Service is great, and they have a nice range of acts come in. General admission so don't expect great seats if you come at the last minute. Parking in back.
Small yet delightful venue. You really feel like you can connect with the performer. It used to be a dance hall so a bar lines one wall and a half wall divides the audience. Good food and limited drinks but a nice evening out.
Went there for a show and it was awesome! We had the deep fired cheese curds, with the EXTRA seasoning, and it was great!
I have always loved seeing shows at the Turf. I went recently, after quite some time and found the (newer) layout upstairs really annoying. It Cut the music standing area in half with zero dance area to be had. Not to mention how difficult it was for the servers to have all the extra tables. I really hope this was just for this event, doubtful

Can't believe I'd never been! Went for a show, and followed advice I found in other reviews. Arrived about 90 minutes early. No issues parking in the lot behind. Had a burger and beer downstairs in the Clown Lounge. Staff let those of us going to the show in first. A GREAT intimate music venue! And just a throwback to earlier days. If someone you want to hear is playing the Turf Club . . . GO!

The Turf Club is one of my favorite spots to catch up-and-coming / lesser-known bands. The intimate setting allows you to get really close with the musicians and it's an incredible experience. Throw in a great friendly staff, solid food and drink, and you have the perfect night for live music in St Paul!

First time there. Waited downstairs in the clown lounge for doors to open. Get their cheese balls. Watched a few scenes of blade runner as it was playing and the turf was great. Intimate. Get get as close to stage as you want. Will return! Beer was also great!
