To start with cocktails, I enjoyed the TLC, which was a nicely balanced whiskey drink. Appetizers - baked brussels sprouts, which delivered crispiness and a cheesy béchamel that was done right. Plus the pork fried rice was actually the best I’ve had in my life. That’s a bold statement, but the game-changer is the use of Pork Belly in the rice, the flavors are beautiful, meat is perfect, and the snap peas add a great fresh element. Drooling just thinking about it. Main - Burger of the day cooked how we wanted, fig jam and goat cheese is a combo I know and love. Well done and good portions. Now to the only faults of the meal, The Roots Salad, which had undercooked sweet potato. The rest of the salad was well-crafted, I added on Pork Belly because… well just try it and you’ll see what I mean. Service - 10/10😁 thanks Jim Takeaways ⭐️get the pork belly ⭐️cocktails are beautiful ⭐️experiment with their specials Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Troop has become a staple brunch choice for me. First visit was great, and every visit thereafter has not lacked. Employees remember my face and maybe next time I won’t have to order a Bloody Mary (which is amazing!)they will already know. Comfortable brunch vibes! I can’t wait to fit in for some of their monthly events! Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I had brunch on a Saturday. It wasn't busy, I copped a seat at the bar. Troop has wicked cool decor. Skateboards for seat backs, very creative. Hip hop are the tunes they choose to play over the sound system. Their are a variety of food options for the brunch menu. The chedder buscuits are delicious and very filling. I can only eat one. I got the troop classic. Eggs, homies, grilled tomatoes, and I added the sausage. Grilled tomatoes were on point, but I wasn't happy with the sausage, I think it was the seasonings. Troop is a spot I will always hit up when I'm in the area. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We were really excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. However, after trying over 80 restaurants in Providence, this makes the very bottom. The Hanger steak only included three strips of cheap steak cuts. The coleslaw on the "That Chicken Sandwich" was so salty it was inedible and the fries were soggy. The halibut special featured a cut so small it couldn't even feed a cat, and the entire experience was extremely disappointing. For the price point of this place, the food they're offering is ridiculous. When we complained about waiting over an hour for our food, our server Adam met me with a blank stare and asked “are you going somewhere?” We were then told that Troop is a "scratch-made" kitchen and "isn't fast food." Scratch-made is hilarious, considering my beef stroganoff noodles were from-the-box egg noodles. There are a lot of amazing, small business restaurants in Providence that deserve your money. I sadly will not be including Troop in this list, and I strongly recommend looking for other places. I went here with a big group and we all ordered different dishes, so I can't even blame it on ordering the wrong thing. Mediocre and disappointing all around is what I will be telling my friends.

Short version: This place has really wonderful food with plenty of new dishes for those trying something different and phenomenal classics. The service was great and timely and the atmosphere is really fun, progressive, and modern. Love this place, I will be back. Long Version: I had a great experience at Troop, the wait staff was very kind and courteous and got us our drinks quickly. They then provided us a very good recommendation for an appetizer which I thought was delicious and came out very quickly. Other waiters were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was wonderful. I got the beef stroganoff and it was phenomenal, very well made. After we got the ice cream cookie which was huge, big enough for me and my partner to share and it was great! The atmosphere in Troop is very modern, with many hip hop references and really well made art on the walls. There's a cozy waiting room and the music selection was really nice throughout the night with many popular rap and r&b artists. I will absolutely come back to Troop, definitely a must for a night in Providence Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The place looks amazing. Music is on the loud side but I didn’t go to talk. I went to eat and the food was unique in terms of taste. We had That Chicken Sandwich but they were out of Chad’s house made cheddar biscuit so I had it on an English muffin as well as added an egg to the sandwich. Service was friendly. Sunday’s brunch gets packed so make sure to make a reservation! Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fries
Awaome place and great food. Atmosphere was excellent. Place was clean you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back My only complaint was with the bathroom. Wish they had paper towels or better hand drying options considering everything else was high quality. I want to eat good food with clean hands. • char siu nigiri - very herbal, it has a strong distinct taste but my friend liked it alot. although, it would’ve been better if it was hot. • banh mi - the pate was overwhelming and the daikon/carrots was too liquidy. the saving grace was the fries which helped cut through the vinegar and mess of it all. • street noodles with fried chicken - tasted like pad thai. my friend and i prefer more noodles to veg but the chicken was pretty good. • haterade - can’t even taste the alc. very refreshing although the cherry obliterated my taste buds because of how cough syrupy it was. notes we came 30ish minutes before last call so that may have affected things. the food is mid, like below average aside from the bomb drinks. however, the vibes of this place is phenomenal. we loved admiring the cultural influence of 80s & 90s pop culture that delivered a fresh atmosphere. i do see myself coming back and giving different dishes a chance.
