This is a great mexican restaurant in downtown Rockwall. Good chips and the best salsa IMO. First time here. It was a Sunday night. Surprisingly, not too busy. The red salsa is delicious. All the right spice, all the right flavors in all the right taste buds 😝. I ordered a Margarita, also spot on. This is my new favorite spot. Thanks, Trevino's 😎❤️😎 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We were greeted immediately and told to sit where we liked, which we did. Our first time here, and the first impressions were good. The gentleman who saw to us played barman/server/ manager(?). Our chips and salsa arrived quickly, as did the guacamole we ordered. I ordered a margarita on the rocks, and on the bill saw I got the top shelf. Not a problem, I should not have assumed I would have gotten the house one (if they had one). My husband ordered the spinach enchiladas and I got the shrimp one. Mine was supposed to come with a tomato and herb sauce and he asked for the tomatilla... We both got the same sauce. Mine was good, nonetheless, even though the tomato and herb would have been a first. No apologies were given and I did not feel like questioning, nor arguing... My husband's enchiladas, although covered in sauce, was two empty rolled up tortillas. No spinach, not fresh as advertised, nor frozen. The gentleman apologized and offered to get a new order. We declined, holding out a faint hope that he was not going to be charged for something he did not receive, nor consumed. Fat chance. We would have declined a complimentary dessert, but it would have made us feel better if it was offered. It would have looked better too. The one star is for the original impression and because I cannot give no stars. We've been in Rockwall since February and are looking for "our" places to go when I need a break from cooking and to entertain our friends. Trevino's will not be one of those... Also, not value for money as far as the food is concerned. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

We were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and our bartender/waiter (Davis) was simply the best. Food priced well, great drinks 🍸, and salsa was very good! We will be back soon!!! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Had a group of 10 for a last minute gathering and had a wonderful time. Food, service, and atmosphere were superb. Love eating here and thank you for accommodating our large group. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We decided to try Trevino's again after the change of ownership. The service was good but it took a minute for someone to greet us or to be seated. It was just me and my husband. It was a bit after lunch and was not busy. My husband loved the chips. The salsa was medium spicy. The sweet tea was perfect. The food came out quickly. My husband ordered the burritos and I ordered the chicken fajita tacos. His burritos were just ground taco meat rolled in a flour tortilla served with beans and rice. No cheese or toppings. It was like a large kids meal. He said that the meat was very salty. My fajita tacos consisted of grilled chicken in a flour tortilla served with beans, a dollop of sour cream, dollop of guacamole, some pico on a bed of lettuce. Both dishes were very basic and not worth the price. The building is historic and on a cool side note, there is an urn under the awning on the main street. We were told that this building used to sell dry goods and urns/caskets. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20
Who knew that a Texas Restaurant serves nachos without peppers. They do have some nice big chunks of raw onions. Weird. Their chips are very thick and tough and have a hint of something I I believe to be old grease and not any kind of seasoning. The are mostly hard clumps not suited for dipping. The place is cute. I was seated quickly and my nachos, which were my meal, came in under half an hour.
I will start off with the positives. I like the building and the atmosphere. Though to my surprise, they did not play any music that even closely resembled Mexican music! Now the negatives. The food was not that good. It was warm, lacked flavor, and the tortillas were not homemade! The flour tortillas seemed to have been taken out of the package and placed in the microwave for just one second. Also, the service was mid at best. I had high hopes but sadly this location was a disappointment. This is not “comida mexicana.” Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Place was completely empty and dirty. Still took an hour to get an order. When it finally came, it was completely wrong and cold. Staff was completely rude when I brought everything up. Refused to take any responsibility or even get a manager. Again, place was empty and they still couldn’t serve people. STAY AWAY!!! No one at this place has any idea what they are doing and shouldn’t be allowed near a restaurant. Service Dine in Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Julia and I enjoyed our simple weekly date. The $5 Margaritas during happy hour were hand-made and shaken by our server Amy and really, really good!! Service was awesome. Chips, salsa, and great fajitas. 4 Stars to the creamy chicken enchiladas and guacamole tostada even less, but still rating 5 stars because if you know what to buy, it is superb. Not sure if it's under new management, but we will be back. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30
